I’m super frustrated and really regretting my purchase of Red Dead Redemption 2 from Rockstar via Gamebillet.com. I was 70% through the game, main missions all wrapped up on my old setup, when I decided to switch to Fedora. I was so excited to dive back in, but trying to install RDR2 on Fedora with Lutris has been a total headache.
The Rockstar launcher is broken on Lutris. To make matters worse, Lutris won’t let me install a new version of the launcher, so I’m stuck with this busted one. The download is over 100 GB, and I can’t pause it. If my internet hiccups or I need to restart my PC, it wipes everything and starts from scratch. It’s driving me up the wall! I’ve poured hours into this game, gotten attached to Arthur’s story, and just want to finish it.
Steam would’ve made this so easy with Proton—smooth sailing, no drama. I really wish someone had gifted me the Steam version instead of this Rockstar headache. Has anyone else run into this Lutris issue with the Rockstar launcher not updating? Any tips to fix it? I’m desperate to get back to my game! 😩
