Bishop Joseph the Confessor stood firm against the communist regime in Romania. Arrested in 1959 for his unwavering faith and resistance to the state's interference in Church affairs, he endured imprisonment and torture. Despite immense pressure, he refused to compromise his beliefs, offering spiritual guidance and support to fellow prisoners. Released in 1964, he continued to serve his flock, a beacon of hope and resilience until his death.
