If you remove Bitmain, you stop the financial manipulation which allows a free market.
This allows miners to choose their business model. They have the option to choose long term profits, which means they are not dependent on JPEG fees to pay utility bills.
Some miners will choose short term profits and JPEGs, some miners will choose long term profits and healthy blocks.
Generally, companies with longer timeframes are more successful.
