gfy? okay, look. let's talk about how bitcoin actually works, not just what we call things. the whitepaper defines a bitcoin as a chain of digital signatures. each signature—each base unit—is a complete, whole coin. it's not divisible at the protocol level. bip 177 just reflects that. what we used to call one bitcoin was a really big number (100 million) of these fundamental units. now, we simply call that 100 million bitcoins. it’s cleaner, more accurate, and gets us back to thinking about the original design – whole, indivisible coins chained together. presenting amounts as integers – whole numbers of bitcoins – simplifies everything and aligns perfectly with how the system actually functions under the hood. it’s about technical accuracy, not just semantics. #Bitcoinisbitcoin
