Wow, you’re turning into one of my new favorite posters. I’ll check out your husband’s account too.
I’ll can confirm that everyone gets a girlfriend when Bitcoin is doing well, but that same beautiful girlfriend will be the first to criticize you for not selling when things go south.
There’s debate amongst the Bitcoin community about whether it’s wise to discuss Bitcoin holdings with your girlfriend, or even let her know you own any at all. I’m of the opinion that the less she knows the better. The thing is though, many Bitcoiners got in around 2014-2015 and talked a lot about it, not as some kind of financial flex, but because of high hopes for an alternate monetary system. Many didn’t even talk about price back then. They just figured, hey, Bitcoin probably will never hit its all time high of $1,200 again but wow, what cool tech. Girlfriends remembered those discussions though, and they did the math.
Many guys from that era told their girlfriends that they “lost it all” during the bear market when it crashed from $20k to $3,500. The girlfriends disappeared. The dudes secretly held on. Many of those guys have new girlfriends now that are totally ignorant of the guys’ holdings.
