reprogrammed the sprinkler to run 9 times a day
using all 3 programs now - A, B and C
i have two dedicated planting times - after sunrise and before sunset when the sprinkler doesn't run so i don't get sprayed while planting new grass - the reason the times are sunrise and sunset is because i am a nocturnal vampire and i normally only see daylight either late night or early morning ...
after both planting times program A runs for 15 minutes to make sure newly planted seed is properly soaked
then during the day program B runs 4 times for 8 minutes each
and a night program C runs 3 times for 4 minutes each
the goal is to keep the top of the soil moist all day and all night except when i am planting
there is more intense watering during the day because the sun evaporates the moisture ...
not much water needed to keep the soil wet at night ...
in fact i think i will go take off the 3rd nightly cycle as by morning the ground will be wet all by itself from just the dew ...
