Cold and hot are both temperature states.
Information, disinformation, and misinformation are all different truth value states.
It's still information.
I can learn true things from false information.
When I think of "information ages" I think of periods of time during which mankind become more connected than it has been at any time in the last 6000 years typically due to some advancement in information dissemination technology. 500 years ago it was the printing press and now it is the internet.
The amount of things we can learn today in 1 year might have taken more than a lifetime of effort just 200 years ago.
I totally agree though...there's a lot of bullshit to sort through. The key is to develop robust discernment. This is why I focus on logical fallacies so much. The more logical fallacies everyone knows and can identify in extemporaneous conversation, the higher quality those conversations will be in terms of progression towards shared understanding of truth.
As for Bitcoin, I also have high hopes for the impact it will have on mankind as a whole.
