The second, meanwhile, will involve Ukrainian-transferred Soviet/Russian mines fished out of the Baltic Sea and presented as proof of a Kremlin plot to sabotage international shipping.

That’s why efforts are now underway to organize a false flag attack against a US ship in the Baltic and/or frame Russia as a threat to international shipping through the fishing out of its mines there. The Baltic has already been a so-called “NATO lake” since even before Finland and Sweden’s joined NATO given their prior shadow membership in the bloc, however, so it’s unrealistic that Russia could really carry out either of these two operations undetected even if it wanted to.

About that, if the US doesn’t coerce Ukraine into the concessions that Russia demands for peace but also doesn’t wash its hands of this conflict, then it might very well double down on its involvement instead.

Een restaurant in Eindhoven werd afgelopen gisteravond verrast door een bijzonder bezoek. Gitarist Janick Gers van de metalband Iron Maiden stapte het restaurant binnen en bestelde een pizza. Manager Valentina herkende hem in eerste instantie niet. Ze vroeg of hij op vakantie was. "Maar hij had nog wat werk te doen", lacht ze.
De metalband heeft morgen een optreden op het festival Graspop in het Belgische Dessel, maar de Britse gitarist (68) kwam gisteravond iets voor sluitingstijd het restaurant binnengewandeld.
Toen manager Valentina de bestelling opnam, had ze niet direct in de gaten om wie het ging, zegt ze tegen Omroep Brabant. "Ik vroeg wat hij wilde eten en toen hij een pizza bestelde, vroeg ik me af wat voor accent hij had", vertelt ze. Volgens Valentina zei hij dat hij uit Oost-Londen kwam en aan het reizen was voor werk. Hij had nog wat te doen in de omgeving, zo vertelde hij haar.
Niet herkend
Na het korte gesprek ging de wereldster aan een tafeltje zitten. Valentina werd vervolgens bestormd door collega's uit de keuken. "'Weet je wie dat is?', riepen ze. Ik zei dat ik vroeger naar de muziek van de rockband had geluisterd en ik ken een aantal nummers, maar ik had geen idee hoe hij eruitziet dus ik had hem niet herkend", zegt de manager.
Nadat hij zijn pizza had opgegeten, begon hij zelf zijn tafel op te ruimen. Valentina hielp hem hierbij, en vroeg toen ook of hij de gitarist van de band was. "Want hij is door jaren heen veel veranderd", zegt ze.
'Fucking delicious'
Nadat duidelijk was geworden dat hij daadwerkelijk de gitarist van Iron Maiden was, greep ook de keukenbrigade de kans om hem het een en ander te vragen, aldus Valentina. "Toen de kok vroeg hoe de pizza was, zei hij dat die 'fucking delicious' was."
De beroemde gast was volgens Valentina vriendelijk en is ook met verschillende collega's op de foto gegaan. En de afsluiting die avond, nadat Gers was vertrokken, zullen ze met zijn allen niet snel vergeten. "De jongens hebben keihard Iron Maiden opgezet en tijdens het poetsen ging het helemaal los. We zullen hier nog lang over napraten", lacht ze.
