I love Nostr and have been here for 3 years however it’s difficult to use now.
First, I felt like my post were annoying people or coming of disingenuous so I stopped posting every morning.
Then, my feed became unusable. Idk if it was all the accounts I followed early on but the bots, the scammers, and tech convos I know nothing about kinda deflated my enthusiasm. It’s as if no matter what I post or hashtag I can’t find any conversation that I’d find interesting.
I’m not on telegram so I’m not apart of any of the women of Nostr groups or other subcultures that can be found here. I don’t like having to keep up with when I need to renew paid subscriptions.
Moving to “Bitcoin country” has caused me to lose a lot of respect for bitcoiners so even that draw isn’t as appealing anymore. Especially when they’re not who they present themselves to be when you meet them in person.
I’ll never turn away from Nostr but my interactions look different. All that I do now is scroll, react, and zap really good stuff otherwise I feel like I don’t belong so I don’t engage anymore. SimpleX is great, I use it. It definitely has its applications but even now is still pretty buggy. This list is for normal folks just getting into privacy.
Signal and session is just going to be easier to use and I'd rather they use session with slightly less metadata protection than nothing because they can't figure it out or it's just too difficult for them.

Maybe. IMO those Intel agencies are quite active on nostr. Lots of influence ops here. I've suspected you, for example. Decided probably not.
There are other possibilities. A dev on nostr could want the platform to respond to real threats, and this may be a way to accelerate development. Perhaps a rethink of how we use relays is in order. Perhaps we need to develop on the "web of trust" idea, or move to an authentication standard. Doesn't it seem like the spam attacks have grown incrementally in annoyingness? Like someone is trying to get a response, and might be a little exasperated by us not hitting the solution they want. Idk. I see patterns.

As far as social apps go, I prefer simplex over any nostr client. It's a bit more intimate. You can't escape some of the fakeness on social media and nostr has, in no way, changed that.

I haven't been in this situation, yet, thankfully. I think calling someone by the name they ask you to call them is a possible solution, and acceptable. And only use the name and never a pronoun. You could even make scare quotes with your fingers when you say the name, though that would probably be provocative 😄.
Perhaps you could ask if the name they want to be called by is a legal name, and if not, insist on only calling them by a legal name. But that's a different, more confrontational route, but perhaps also an option.

广东怀集县启动防汛Ⅰ级应急响应全县中小学停课
受强降雨影响，广东肇庆怀集县多个镇街出现大暴雨，多条江河出现超警洪水。未来降雨将持续，致灾风险高，防汛形势严峻。为做好防御当前强降雨工作，怀集县三防指挥部从6月17日19时将防汛Ⅱ级应急响应提升为防汛Ⅰ级应急响应，对受山洪地质灾害威胁的人员实施转移安置，全县中小学幼儿园继续停课。截至17日17时，怀集县全县19个乡镇街道受灾，受灾人口7.8万多人，紧急转移避险2.9万人。

江苏盱眙通报“企业为学校提供食材的转运筐有蛆”：全面核查
江苏省盱眙县农业农村局6月17日发布情况通报称，6月16日晚，网民反映盱眙县某企业食品周转筐发现蛆虫。该局第一时间现场突击检查、调取监控视频，经初步核查，该批周转筐16日上午从外市空筐运回，筐内无食品，10时许运至企业周转筐暂存间，待完成高温清洗消毒，检验合格后使用，视频拍摄时尚未清洗消杀。另经调取记录，该企业肉品为检疫检验合格后用食品级包装袋密封包装冷链出厂。盱眙县农业农村局表示，正会同相关部门对企业产品生产、包装、运输等全流程食品安全情况进行全面核查，如存在违法违规行为，将依法依规给予严厉处罚。

Thats the future they all want. I will say it is ballsy to put a flash cart in an active console though. If I remember right people were getting nuked for using 3DS flash carts a couple years ago, but I don't know to what degree.

He can move the NIP-05 association to the new one, and you're back in business and the imposter has a profile with a big ❌ on it or has to remove the NIP-05. And your internal systems can immediately react on that, as the npub+NIP-05 combination works like an e-mail+password combination.
All of our company npubs have a GitCitadel.com domain. If one gets burnt, we can easily switch and announce the new location.
