see, the thing is, i know a few things about big numbers and randomness and chaos theory. i don't think it's enough to explain some of the things i've seen and read about and experience on a daily basis. i used to think it was "magick" but after i fell right into the hole of determinism i became sure that this was what God was. not all powerful. all knowing. and offering hints to progress the journey. i came to think of God as like the Game Designer.
because life is a game, of sorts. you can choose many different outcomes but the best ones are the ones that came to you in a dream, or were whispered in your ear by who knows who.
also, one of the things you learn when you study cryptography and number theory is that there is something in there, something spooky, and eternal. deep in physics there is also something funny going on that doesn't fit the "there is no purpose and there is eternal decay into the void" story.

It's better when you write tests first.
My copilot-instructions file says "**TESTS ARE SACROSANCT.** NEVER modify them without explicit permission from the developer."
Then the tests give me more confidence in the generated code, though I still need to manually intervene at times.
The thing is, everyone hates writing tests.
The other thing is, if you're careful, you can write tests faster with LLMs.

I also notice the exhaustion. That's probably why they vibe. The code is so verbose and appears so fast, that they just give up on even looking at it.
Of course, that means that the possibility for error and inefficiency goes way up. I keep finding duplicate code, that snuck in. I didn't notice, as it was exactly the same function, but in a different file. Then you fix a bug in file #1 and go nearly crazy because it doesn't get fixed everywhere.

Virginia Apgar, M.D., the first woman to become a full professor at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, designed the first standardized method for evaluating the newborn's transition to life outside the womb—the Apgar Score. Newborn babies still benefit from Dr. Virginia Apgar's groundbreaking research into the effects of anesthesia during childbirth and advocacy on the prevention of birth defects.
She began studying obstetrical anesthesia—the effects of anesthesia given to a mother during labor on her newborn baby—where she made her greatest contribution to the field, the Apgar Score. This was the first standardized method for evaluating the newborn's transition to life outside the womb. "Five points—heart rate, respiratory effort, muscle tone, reflex response, and color—are observed and given 0, 1, or 2 points. The points are then totaled to arrive at the baby's score." The score was presented in 1952 at a scientific meeting, and first published in 1953. Despite initial resistance, the score was eventually accepted and is now used throughout the world. Apgar first planned the score to be taken one minute after birth, as a guide to the need for resuscitation. Others began to take measurements at longer intervals, to evaluate how the baby had responded to any necessary resuscitation. Eventually, the one- and five-minute Apgar Score became standard.
Apgar went on to relate the score more closely to the effects of labor, delivery, and maternal anesthetics on the baby's condition. Colleagues Dr. Duncan Holaday and Dr. Stanley James helped her make these connections, providing new methods of measuring blood gases and blood levels of anesthesia, and contributing specialized knowledge in cardiology. Together, they were able to demonstrate that babies with low levels of blood oxygen and highly acidic blood had low Apgar Scores and that giving cyclopropane anesthesia to the mother was likely to result in an infant's low Apgar Score. Finally, the Collaborative Project, a twelve-institution study involving 17,221 babies, established that the Apgar Score, especially the five-minute score, can predict neonatal survival and neurological development.

If you're running Typescript and feeling lazy, you can do "npm run check" and then just copy-paste the result into the API form and it'll fix it. Faster than typing yourself, once you get beyond a few errors or a simple search-and-replace, like during a major rewrite.

Idk. Bitcoin, gold, and other monies are useful for transactions to obtain what your organization finds utility in. In a vacuum, they have no utility in and of itself.
I've seen a few videos of men in Ukraine delivering food or whatever only to be gang pressed into military service. Why would they kill you when they need bodies on the front line and the job will still get done?
Meanwhile the other items of utility you have: your land, your food, your water, your family, etc. similarly gets put to use. In the meantime, the remaining Bitcoin that they have some of has increased in value because it's been made more scarce by the destruction of you and your seed phrase rendering your Bitcoin inaccessible.
