Good conversation with a friend last night.
He was adamant, governments are going to find a way to kill bitcoin.
His faith in their (lamentable) power means he doesn't want to spend the time learning about it.
"It'll dismantle the nation-state," I said.
"You're an idealist," he said.
I comended his skepticism.
"Keep challenging bitcoin. Keep raising your doubts and seek the answers. Verify the info."
But he already learned a lot and overcame many objections from our talk.
You don't "orange pill" people through discourse only. They are the only ones who can come to the realization on their own terms.
Be a trusted voice. Ask question. Answer questions. Allay fears.
Each conversation like this moves the needle slightly.
If everyone hodles and keeps their head down, bitcoin loses momentum.
Be a quiet advocate.

I thought I added the word „enough“ before privacy, when I wrote this reply, but somehow it didn’t make it there.
„Enough“ privacy I was meaning to say. I lived in Zimbabwe a country that is ruled by a government that is detaining and killing people for their speech and opposition. I know about the dangers of having no privacy, I put myself in that danger. My lived experience from Zimbabwe is that self-custodial LN, Liquid and non KYC Bitcoin exchanged P2P is good enough (with BOLT12 privacy on LN will be increased). Monero has higher privacy that’s true, but you won’t find anyone accepting it or exchanging it to cash on the ground. And activists need the cash to be able to do their work.

表演者林妍描述，穿上硅胶鱼尾需半小时，水下动作稍有不慎就可能"卡尾"——鱼尾被缸内珊瑚、假山勾住。一位同行曾因卡尾被困水下2分钟，最终脱掉鱼尾近乎走光才逃生。更严重的事故发生在太原海洋大世界，一名表演者因护目镜脱落、脚蹼丢失溺水，救援迟缓导致其一度昏迷。"3米的池子，20秒内必须救人，但许多场馆连安全员都没有。"林妍说。
动物同样是隐患。海龟的喙"像被门夹"，豹纹鳗的撕咬"如刀割"，而"人鲨同缸"的噱头更致命。2023年，江苏一名表演者被鲨鱼咬断右手动脉，鉴定为十级伤残。
行业对"美"的追求近乎残酷：生过孩子的不要（小肚子明显），年龄大的不要（需保持少女感），男性则需腹肌加持。而长期冷水浸泡、频繁化妆卸妆、水质污染（含动物粪便）导致表演者普遍脱发、爆痘、中耳炎。
"生理期也得用棉条下水，同事冻到闭经辞职。"表演者初初说。室外缸冬季水温接近冰点，水面下每降1度体感如陆地降温5度。长期湿寒让许多人虚胖、起疹，但月薪已从巅峰期的1.5万暴跌至5000元。
行业门槛因内卷崩塌。过去需考取潜水证、救援证，如今"两天拿证即可表演"。部分老演员将工作外包给新手，而外包公司"只要有人演，是谁无所谓"。
林妍在事故后呼吁规范："如果集体拒绝危险条件，行业才会变好。"但现实是，多数人为了生计妥协。俄罗斯籍演员因外形"自由"更受青睐，进一步挤压本土表演者空间。
尽管身体损耗与薪资缩水，仍有表演者留恋这份职业的"魔幻感"。"小孩真的相信你是条鱼，那种纯粹的笑容太治愈了。"林妍说。但她也清醒认知："人就是耗材，尤其当大学生被低价招入时。"
美人鱼行业的光鲜表面下，是安全缺失、健康透支与资本压榨的暗流。当童话沦为廉价表演，或许唯有规范与尊重，才能让这份职业不再以生命为赌注。
