"Onze boerderij op Schiermonnikoog is het laatste huis in Nederland dat is bevrijd. Voor ons duurde de oorlog veel langer." De 88-jarige Theun Talsma was nog maar een jongen van 9 toen de Canadezen op 11 juni 1945 eindelijk aankwamen op het Waddeneiland Schiermonnikoog, vandaag tachtig jaar geleden. Bijna zes weken na de capitulatie van nazi-Duitsland werden daar de laatste Duitse soldaten verdreven uit Nederland.
De geallieerden hadden de Waddeneilanden links laten liggen tijdens de bevrijding van Nederland. "Ze moesten nog heel West-Nederland ontwapenen. Steden als Amsterdam, Rotterdam en Den Haag zaten nog vol met Duitsers."
Gewapende patrouilles
"Die moesten ontwapend worden", zegt militair deskundige Joël Stoppels. "Logistiek gezien was het dan ook niet gelijk mogelijk om de vijf eilanden te bevrijden én de Duitsers te ontwapenen. Ze dachten dat de mensen daar wel konden wachten."
En dat wachten duurde lang voor de eilanders. Texel is op 20 mei 1945 als eerste van de eilanden aan de beurt. En Schiermonnikoog pas als laatste, op 11 juni 1945. "Dat was een vreemde situatie. De Duitsers waren nog de baas. Ze patrouilleerden gewapend over de eilanden. Terwijl de eilanders aan de overkant van de Waddenzee de Nederlandse vlag zagen wapperen op kerken", zegt Stoppels.
Het gezin van Theun Thalsma viert de bevrijding niet in hun eigen boerderij. Ze wonen de laatste maanden van de oorlog in een huisje in het dorp. Want al is de oorlog op het eiland mild verlopen, aan het eind wordt het toch nog grimmig.
Een groep beruchte nazi's vlucht vanuit Groningen naar Schiermonnikoog. De geallieerden zitten hen op de hielen en ze hopen via het eiland nog naar Duitsland te kunnen. Hun vlucht loopt vast in de boerderij van de familie Talsma, waar ze worden ondergebracht.
"Wij moesten weg. We wilden niet, maar we hadden geen keus. Mijn vader ging tweemaal per dag terug naar de boerderij om de koeien te melken. En dan zag hij die beulen lopen door zijn huis en over het erf. Vreselijk was dat", zegt Talsma.
Geen krijgsgevangenen
De mannen en vrouwen, Nederlandse en Duitse SS'ers, zijn in het noorden berucht. Ze martelden verzetsstrijders, schoten mensen dood en pakten Joden op. Tot eind mei blijven ze op het eiland. Ze vertrekken als ze horen dat ze als krijgsgevangenen zullen worden behandeld. Maar dat gebeurt niet. Ze krijgen lange gevangenisstraffen.
De mensen op Schiermonnikoog halen opgelucht adem als de SS'ers weg zijn. Maar ook dan is de oorlog nog niet voorbij. In de bunkers verspreidt over het eiland zitten nog honderden Duitse soldaten.
Die vertrekken pas na de komst van de Canadezen. Theun Thalsma is blij als hij met zijn familie weer terug kan naar hun boerderij. Hij blijft er wonen, tot op de dag van vandaag. Hij herinnert zich hoe mooi het was dat hij als jonge jongen ineens weer overal kon spelen.
"Een groot deel van het eiland was tijdens de oorlog Sperrgebiet, verboden terrein. En nu konden we de duinen weer in en naar het strand. Daar mochten we eerst niet komen. In mijn jonge jaren zat het eiland altijd vol met Duitse soldaten. Nu bleven de bunkers leeg achter."

Looking back, I’m starting to think that we probably don’t need any vaccines at all. During the plandemic, was a time that really made me question the purpose and safety of all vaccines.
Take the flu shot, for example. It seems ridiculous when you really think about it. They literally inject you with a virus—and they don’t even hide it! They openly tell you that you might get sick after getting the shot. The logic behind it is that by injecting you with the virus, you somehow become immune to it, right? But they also tell you they “find” a new strain of the virus every winter. It doesn’t add up.
If there is a virus circulating in the winter, why can't our immune systems handle it? We don’t need a vaccine for that.
I was tricked into getting three flu shots, 3 winters, and every single time, I got sick a couple of weeks later. After that, I stopped getting the flu shot, and I haven’t been sick since.
I mentioned this to the nurse once, and she told me that it was actually "normal" to get sick after the flu shot because that's how it works—since the vaccine contains a virus. According to her, if you got sick, that meant the flu shot was doing its job. She told me I should get it every year. I asked her, "But won't my immune system take care of the virus if I don’t get the shot?" She said no, because our immune systems are "not strong enough."
It’s frustrating. It feels like hospital staff, and a lot of people in general, have been brainwashed into thinking our immune systems are too weak to fight off viruses. But think about it—we’ve been getting vaccines since we were babies. Is it possible that this constant exposure is actually weakening our immune systems on purpose?
I never got the COVID shot, but almost everyone around me did. And guess what? Everyone who got it got sick, and some are dealing with long-term health issues because of it.
I never really thought about this until recently, but when you stop and look at the bigger picture, it’s easy to see how people have been fooled. It makes no sense to take a vaccine if you’re perfectly healthy in the first place.

Bitcoin double top called???
Noticed someone calling a double top for #bitcoin today but can’t find the post again. For those who use #gann #gann Swing Charts a double top occurs when a followed item hits a high, turns down then comes back to the same high as before and then turns down. In the #stocks and #commodities markets this generally indicates the traded item will fall in price by twice the previous fall, eg. If the stock had fallen $10 before going up again expect the price to fall around $20 from the high recently achieved.
Double tops (and bottoms) can be determined for any trading interval - including intra-day. Personally, I do daily analyses and the present analysis does not show a double top - if that had occurred we would be looking to BTC pull back to USD 90k.
Presently BTC is doing what’s called an inside day where the highs and lows of each day are within the high and low of the previous day - basically the direction is sideways and indeterminate - other factors outside of technical trading are likely to determine the next move.
I do note that at a stretch the 28 May and 7 Jun Highs would indicate on a ten-day cycle (uncommon) a double top may occur leading to a pull back to USD 90k over the next 10 days. Notably this does bring the timing close to the end of some fiscal years in a number of countries - which tends to lead to some market pull back as people choose to realise their losses and offset some gains. This would mean realising gains in BTC by exiting and then re-entering very quickly. IMHO this is a remote possibility.
