🖥 Bitcoin Core rimuove il limite al campo OP_RETURN
La modifica è stata ufficialmente approvata e sarà inclusa in Bitcoin Core versione 30.0, eliminando completamente il limite predefinito sui dati OP_RETURN.
Gli sviluppatori di Bitcoin Core spiegano che i precedenti limiti restrittivi su OP_RETURN, pur intesi a scoraggiare l'archiviazione di dati arbitrari, creano conseguenze indesiderate. Secondo i Core dev, gli utenti determinati a inserire dati ricorrono a metodi più dannosi per la rete: alcuni utilizzano tecniche che "inquinano" permanentemente l'UTXO set, altri aggirano completamente la mempool inviando transazioni direttamente ai miner.
Dal punto di vista del team di sviluppo di Core, mantenere politiche più restrittive di quelle che i miner stanno già accettando danneggia l'utilità della rete e spinge verso la centralizzazione.
Gli sviluppatori sottolineano che l'obiettivo non è incoraggiare l'uso di dati arbitrari, ma offrire un "male minore".
