So you had a second channel opened to you, because your first one didn't have enough capacity to receive the new amount you sent. By default, the just-in-time services gives you 100k sats of inbound on top of the amount you're looking to receive.
Whenever a new channel needs to be opened, the required fee is displayed clearly above the invoice QR.
If you want to be most economical, you can use the advanced channel service through the 'Purchase inbound channel' and specify the amount and duration you need so you can do long term planning.
As far as costs VS custodial. Yes, custodial wallet charges less in fees, but that's at the cost of control of your funds.

Remember that Alby Hub and Rizful.com are both good options, and both offer NWC strings which can be used in Damus and other clients. But these have tradeoffs, because the user runs a "full node in the cloud", which isn't free. (Although it's not super-expensive, either.)
We're actually working now on a "lightweight" version of Rizful.com that will be free and will offer NWC connections.
But it's also a good thing if lots of people run their own Lightning Nodes. It's contributes to the decentralization of the network.

Zij noemt Wilders een "ongelooflijk onbetrouwbare partner" en vindt dat Nederland "volwassen leiderschap" nodig heeft.
Yesilgöz zegt dat zij tot dit besluit is gekomen na overleg met veel VVD'ers, gedurende de afgelopen week. "Niemand van hen zei dat Wilders nog een kans verdiende.
Door dit besluit van de VVD is de kans klein geworden dat de PVV mee kan doen aan een volgende regeringscoalitie.
