I don’t know what he’s referring to but Inscriptions are definitely, by definition an exploit. Any honest person can’t deny that, there’s different arguments to be made about filters and such, but you can’t deny it’s an exploit.
If this wasn’t bitcoin you’d take one look at OP_FLASE OP_IF being used to stuff non money related data and say “yup that’s an exploit we didn’t see it, being used that way, this was not the intention of taproot” and roll it back or mitigate it in someway.
Even if people raised the issue before it was merged it would have been fixed or been lots of push back.
Only argument is, this is bitcoin not a regular OSS project so core fuck ups are much harder to fix once activated.
But you guys like to pretend Bitcoin is just another OSS when it suits you and not when it doesn’t.
Just pure dishonesty. This is why no one trusts you guys anymore. Anyone, technical or not can see the hypocrisy, contrary to what you guys might think, Bitcoiners aren’t all idiots.

The goals of transaction relay listed are basically all wrong. Predicting what will be mined is a centralizing goal. Expecting spam to be mined is defeatism. Helping spam propagate is harmful.
This OPED contradicts itself, presenting out of band relay as both negative and also "an important aspect of Bitcoin’s censorship resistance"
It ignores the lack of consent to spam by users/node operators, giving deference to the attackers and the malicious miners who might conspire with them.
It paints spam as "largely harmless", when the truth is the exact opposite. The most important things you can do today are:
1) Fight economic/node centralization by encouraging businesses to accept payment in bitcoins, using their own full node. This is crucial to enforcing the consensus rules themselves.
2) Fight mining centralization by solo mining (eg, with Knots and DATUM) yourself if practical. You probably won't break even competing against industrial miners, but every little bit helps (though the more hashrate, the better). If you have a voice in larger mining firms, ask them to make their own blocks and not cooperate with attackers.
Both of these are strengthened further by spreading awareness of the issues and solutions among the Bitcoin community (much of which isn't active on Twitter or social media).
