Opnieuw actievoerders en politie op grens bij Ter Apel
Voor de tweede avond op rij hebben zich burgers verzameld bij de grens tussen Ter Apel en het Duitse Rütenbrock. De actievoerders hadden net als zaterdagavond 'grenscontroles' aangekondigd, maar uiteindelijk zijn er geen auto's gecontroleerd.
De actievoerders kwamen wel weer naar de grens met reflecterende jassen, lampen en zo'n tien voertuigen, meldt RTV Noord. Er was een flink aantal Duitse en Nederlandse agenten aanwezig, om te voorkomen dat het uit de hand zou lopen. Ze staan met politieauto's aan beide kanten van de grens op de Rütenbrockerweg.
Gisteravond was een groep mensen naar dezelfde plek gekomen met reflecterende jassen en lichtgevende stokken om bestuurders van de weg te leiden. Ze inspecteerden voertuigen die vanuit Duitsland de Nederlandse grens overstaken, om te weten te komen of er asielzoekers bij waren. De gemeente Westerwolde noemde de actie levensgevaarlijk en wees erop dat het verboden is om op eigen houtje op die manier auto's tegen te houden.
Wilders
De Duitse politie sommeerde de actievoerders gisteren het Duitse grondgebied te verlaten. Op het moment dat de Nederlandse politie ter plaatse kwam werden er geen strafbare feiten meer geconstateerd.
De actie leidde tot reacties in Den Haag. PVV-leider Wilders sprak op X van een "fantastisch initiatief" dat "overal aan de grens" zou moeten gebeuren. Demissionair minister Van Weel van Justitie zei via een woordvoerder de frustratie van de actievoerders te begrijpen, maar hij riep ze op "dit niet te doen" en zich aan de wet te houden.
