A discussão deveria girar sobre o custo extra dos EVs contra os ganhos em poluição. Até seria melhor para o proprios EVs, pois, considerando o planeta, há a poluição para produzir e dispor das baterias e gerar a eletricidade. Olhando pro local, transferir a poluição do meu nariz para uma fabrica distante pode ser um ganho real, mensurável, atrativo pra discurso político. Todo o marketing e narrativa são invertidos.
Vantagens pros politicos:
* evita promessas com resultados mensuráveis. Se prometer menos poluição sonora ou ar e água melhores, todos sentirão o resultado, e fracassos serão punidos. Mas 'fizemos a nossa parte contra o aquecimento global' é só discurso.
* não tem fim ou resultado estável. Se a água e o ar estiverem perfeitos, que novo esquema poderia tirar mais leite dessa vaca? O aquecimento global pode ser 'combatido' pra sempre, em todo lugar, cada vez com mais esquemas lucrativos.
* mais regulações e poder pra ferrar os inimigos e ajudar os amigos.
Mas eu não me preocupo com leis de proibir os motores a combustão *per se*. O grid elétrico não aguentaria, nem parece plausível extendê-lo em um futuro próximo. Eliminar combustão só se o número de carros diminuir brutalmente... só se a população ou for muito mais pobre ou diminuir brutalmente... Hum...
