this wrongful precedent in jurisprudence opened the gate to copyright law which essentially grants the "owner" of this *imaginary property* an exclusive right over a piece of the common wealth, and was quickly exploited to the point where 500 years later the british parliament made a law called the Statute of Monopolies, which forbid the king from granting a monopoly of any kind.
this law should have nullified the precedent of the copyright of the vulgate but the parliament, and the mercantilist sponsors of the parliament, continued to institute laws that violated this law
i know about this because i researched this body of law as a part of a defense against the claim of the state to acquire my personal physical property on the basis that i was violating a monopoly on using the common property of the roads with said property (it was a pissy little 50cc motorcycle i was using to enable me to do my business).
using the monopoly of violence of the state to enforce a monopoly is a violation of a core principle of jurisprudence, which is that no man should be taken or imprisoned without a judgement found by a jury of his peers
the precedent of the judgement in the case of the Vulgate was not made on the basis of a jury of his peers, but the arbitrary and singular self-proclaimed authority of the king to be the final arbiter, and i consider this to be the moment of history in which society started on the path to hell that led to millions of dead people in the 20th century

Interesting... I popped over to #Primal to see how bad the spam reply nonsense is here and I have ZERO reply spam in my notifications.
I am seeing questions from Primal users about how to get rid of it, so I know it must be an issue over here, and I know that I am getting reply spam on my notes, because I am seeing it on Jumble or on Coracle when I have my WoT filter set to 0.
So what gives? Primal users are all reading from the same caching server, rather than directly from their selected relays, so why are other users seeing reply spam on Primal but I'm not?

I believe this can happen in one of few ways:
1. Transaction was not a Nostr zap. Only a plain Lightning transaction.
2. Zap was sent to somebody that does not have a name or display name set up on their kind 0 profile.
3. Zap was sent anonymously (i.e. to a random pubkey), which is just a derivative of (2).
We should change (2) and (3) to show the abbreviated pubkey as the display name instead of “Unknown”. I’ll fix it.

When a new restaurant opens, I often go in to check it out, and I've noticed that many of these places are run by first-time business owners with little to no experience. I keep an eye on their reviews, and more often than not, they end up getting poor feedback. What's even more entertaining is that the restaurant owners reply to the bad reviews, and it quickly turns into full-blown arguments, with both sides hurling insults at each other! 🤣
There’s one restaurant in particular where the owner told me he had just moved to Canada and had tons of experience in the restaurant business. A year later, I checked his reviews, and they were all good.
Turns out, experience really does matter. Unfortunately, in Canada, with all the taxes(theft) and complex regulations, it's incredibly difficult to gain solid experience. The margins are so thin that one mistake can cost you your entire business.
Most restaurants end up failing here.
There’s one spot in particular where the ownership changes every year. The only person making money is the landlord—because the restaurants never seem to last long enough to turn a profit.
The lesson here? Be the landlord. But even better—buy Bitcoin instead. Just imagine having to deal with tenants leaving every year. 😅
