Wachstumslรผge entlarvt: Die Wahrheit hinter den 0,4 Prozent
Deutschlands Wirtschaft wรคchst im ersten Quartal formal um 0,4 Prozent, doch Arbeitslosigkeit, Inflation und diverse Effekte tรคuschen รผber die eigentliche Lage hinweg. Die deutsche รkonomie bleibt in einem schlechten Zustand.

ยปTagesschau.deยซ, aber auch viele andere Medien sind in Feierlaune, denn das Statistische Bundesamt korrigiert seine Wachstumserwartung auf das Doppelte. Das teilte die Behรถrde mit Sitz in Wiesbaden mit. Chefin der Chefstatistik ist รผbrigens Ruth Brand, die auch gleichzeitig Bundeswahlleiterin ist. Dieselbe, die sich bereits im vergangenen Jahr zum sprichwรถrtlichen โObstโ gemacht hat, weil ihr sogar die Papierindustrie widersprechen musste, als sie meinte, es gebe fรผr die Neuwahlen nicht genรผgend Wahlzettel.
Nun darf die gute Ruth aus der Stadt, die den Kochbrunnen ihr eigen nennt, eine Thermalquelle am Rande der Fuรgรคngerzone, wieder jubeln. So ist die deutsche Wirtschaft im ersten Quartal 2025 um โsatteโ 0,4 Prozent gewachsen. Ruths Statistiker und ihre Handlanger von der Tagesschau feiern das als โรผberraschend starkโ. Auch sogenannte Experten sind vรถllig aus dem Hรคuschen: โHoppla! Eine Revision um 0,2 Prozentpunkte ist ungewรถhnlichโ, frohlockte Jens-Oliver Niklasch von der Landesbank Baden-Wรผrttemberg gegenรผber der ARD. Die frohe Botschaft dรผrfte auch bei der neuen Wirtschaftsministerin, Katherina Reiche, angekommen sein. Gute Zahlen zum Amtsbeginn kann doch jeder gebrauchen.
Das Problem an der Sache liegt, wie รผblich, im Detail, genauer gesagt an der mangelhaften รถkonomischen Bildung auch und gerade innerhalb des Journalismus. Es ist schon eine wackere Leistung, dass sich Tagesschau.de trotz Zwangsgebรผhren nicht in der Lage sieht, diese Zahl ins Verhรคltnis zu setzen. Denn betrachtet man den Gesamtkontext, vom Basiseffekt bis zu den strukturellen Problemen in Deutschland, dann dรผrfen sich weder die reizende Ruth in Wiesbaden noch die karrierebewusste Katherina in Berlin groรartig freuen.
Der Vorzieheffekt verzerrt die Prognose
Fangen wir mit dem Offensichtlichen an: Der sogenannte โBasiseffektโ macht die 0,4 Prozent Wachstum in Windeseile zu einer Seifenblase. Liegt ein Wert โunter dem Basiseffektโ, bedeutet dies, dass ein hoher Wert im Vorjahr den aktuellen prozentualen รถkonomischen Zuwachs kleiner erscheinen lรคsst โ und umgekehrt lรคsst ein niedriger Vorjahreswert das Wachstum grรถรer aussehen. So ist die Wirtschaft im Jahr 2023 um ยป0,3 Prozentยซ ( https://x.com/focusonline/status/1746820699061191113?s=61 ) und 2024 ยปum 0,2 Prozentยซ ( https://x.com/zdfheute/status/1879455711257612787?s=61 ) geschrumpft. Das bedeutet, Deutschland hat zwei Jahre lang wirtschaftlich Boden verloren, wรคhrend nun die ruchlose Ruth und die kurzsichtige Katherina ein minimales Plus feiern. Das ist ungefรคhr so, als wรผrde man nach einem Marathon rรผckwรคrts laufen und dann feiern, dass man zwei Schritte vorwรคrts gemacht hat. Klingt nicht nur sinnlos, ist es auch.
Die 0,4 Prozent im ersten Quartal 2025 bringen Deutschland gerade mal zurรผck auf das Niveau von vor der Krise โ und selbst das bleibt zu bezweifeln, wenn man die schwachen Prognosen fรผr den Rest des Jahres anschaut und wenn man den ยปAusfรผhrungen der EU-Kommissionยซ ( https://economy-finance.ec.europa.eu/economic-surveillance-eu-economies/germany/economic-forecast-germany_en ) glaubt, die erfahrungsgemรคร eher positiver dargestellt werden. Der Basiseffekt tรคuscht also ein Wachstum vor, das in Wahrheit nur ein Aufholen von Verlusten ist.
Nicht zu vergessen ist der Vorzieheffekt, immerhin benennt ihn die Tagesschau. Unter โVorzieheffektโ versteht man das wirtschaftliche Phรคnomen, dass Unternehmen geplante Exporte oder Investitionen zeitlich nach vorne verlagern, um bevorstehende Nachteile zu umgehen โ in diesem Fall die von Donald Trump ab dem 1. Juni 2025 angekรผndigten Strafzรถlle von bis zu 50 Prozent auf EU-Importe. Dadurch steigen die Ausfuhren kurzfristig stark an, was das Wirtschaftswachstum vorรผbergehend hรถher erscheinen lรคsst, obwohl es sich um ein Strohfeuer handelt, dem spรคter ein Dรคmpfer folgt.
Inflation und Arbeitslosigkeit nicht beachtet
Was Tagesschau und Konsorten auch hรคtten berรผcksichtigen kรถnnen, sind die Arbeitslosenzahlen, die alles andere als rosig aussehen. Im Mรคrz 2025 lag die Arbeitslosenquote bei 6,3 Prozent, der hรถchste Stand ยปseit รผber vier Jahrenยซ. ( https://www.destatis.de/EN/Themes/Labour/Labour-Market/Unemployment/_node.html) ) Im Januar 2025 waren es mit 6,4 Prozent sogar ยปfast 3 Millionen Arbeitsloseยซ. Das ist kein kleiner Dรคmpfer, das ist ein Alarmsignal allererster Gรผte. Die Industrie, einst das Rรผckgrat Deutschlands, blutet aus. ยปVolkswagen plant Werksschlieรungenยซ ( https://www.tagesschau.de/404-fehlerseite-ts-100.html ) und betriebsbedingte Kรผndigungen, Thyssenkrupp Steel kรผndigte im April 2025 an, ยป11.000 Jobs zu streichenยซ ( https://www.zdf.de/nachrichten/wirtschaft/ig-metall-stahlbranche-stellenabbau-thyssen-krupp-100.html ), um โwettbewerbsfรคhigโ zu bleiben. Wรคhrend der รถffentliche Sektor und das Gesundheitswesen noch Jobs schaffen, finanziert das letztlich der Steuerzahler โ also die, die noch Arbeit haben. Ein Teufelskreis, der zeigt: Der Arbeitsmarkt ist ein Trรผmmerfeld, und die 0,4 Prozent รคndern daran nichts.
Ebenso wenig bedachten Ruth und Katherina die Inflation. Im April 2025 lag sie zwar ยปbei 2,1 Prozentยซ, dem niedrigsten Stand seit drei Jahren. Das klingt zwar gut, ist es jedoch nicht. Denn die Reallรถhne haben die Kaufkraftverluste noch lange nicht wettgemacht. Lebensmittelpreise stiegen im Mรคrz 2025 ยปum mehr als drei Prozentยซ ( https://www.tagesschau.de/wirtschaft/verbraucher/inflation-maerz-energie-lebensmittel-100.html ) im Vergleich zum Vorjahr. Die Verbraucher bleiben vorsichtig, die Sparquote liegt bei ยปรผber zehn Prozentยซ ( https://www.destatis.de/DE/Presse/Pressemitteilungen/Zahl-der-Woche/2024/PD24_44_p002.html ), weit รผber dem Vorkrisenniveau. Ein aktuelles Beispiel, nicht zuletzt, weil dieser Autor so gerne Zug fรคhrt: Die Preise fรผr das Deutschlandticket stiegen im Januar 2025 von 49 auf 58 Euro, was Pendler, Familien und diesen Autor zusรคtzlich belastet. Die Inflation mag sinken, aber fรผr den Durchschnittsverbraucher fรผhlt sich das wie ein Tropfen auf den heiรen Stein an. Auch hier wirkt die singulรคre Betrachtung von 0,4 Prozent von Tagesschau und Co wie ein Deepfake.
Falsche politische Weichenstellung
Grundsรคtzlich zu kritisieren ist das Zwei-Prozent-Ziel der EZB. Denn dieses sieht Inflation nicht als ein zu vermeidendes รbel an, sondern vielmehr als politisch gewolltes Mittel โ also eine dauerhafte, staatlich legitimierte Entwertung privaten Eigentums. Eine Zentralbank, die systematisch Preissteigerungen anstrebt, verlรคsst den ordnungspolitischen Boden der Marktwirtschaft und betreibt in Wahrheit eine schleichende Umverteilung von unten nach oben sowie einen Wandel von Sparern zu Schuldnern โ ein Eingriff, der Freiheit und Eigentum gleichermaรen untergrรคbt.
Neben Basis- und Vorzieheffekt, Arbeitslosenzahlen und Inflation kรถnnte man auch noch die groรartigen Strukturprobleme in Deutschland, wie Bรผrokratie, Fachkrรคftemangel oder Digitalisierung ansprechen, die die 0,4 Prozent Wachstum im richtigen Kontext beleuchten. Da kรถnnen sich die oberste Statistikerin, Ruth Brand, sowie die Wirtschaftsministerin freuen, wie sie mรถgen. Die รkonomie hierzulande ist in einem schlechten Zustand. Es mag bezweifelt werden, zumindest sind kaum Anzeichen erkennbar, dass sich dies mit der neuen Regierung รคndert.

What else do you think i should add to the zap.stream app for 1.0 release, the goal is to have a decent viewer experience. I think its mostly there but if there is anything else that needs to be added please let me know because i want to bake the 1.0 and move onto other features
