天色灰暗。
2024年1月19日，一个十分寒冷的日子，我到马德里的一个报亭的包裹取件点。
在报亭收银台前等待时，我听到了一个熟悉的声音。
柜台后面传来了阿根廷总统哈维尔·米莱的声音。
女收银员一边等候顾客和收钱，一边在听哈维尔·米莱的YouTube视频。视频的内容是米莱要在阿根廷恢复法律和秩序。
轮到我时，我问她是不是在听米莱的节目。这不是我第一次在她这里取件。
这位女士——也许是店主——是一位矮小壮实的南美人，土著，年过花甲，有点暴躁和不耐烦，动作生硬。
当她听到米莱的名字时，脸色发生了变化。因为我第一次看到了她的笑容。
“是的，我喜欢他。”她回答道。
我把我的手机怼到她眼前，给她看我和米莱的自拍照。
那张笑脸又有了变化。这一次纯粹是惊奇。她看着我，仿佛我是来自另一个星球的生物。
从我的角度看，我认识哈维尔·米莱不是什么非凡的事情。
毕竟，我们都同属于奥地利学派——一个经济学思想流派，它的拥护者数量非常有限。包括讲西班牙语的奥地利学派追随者在内，“奥派们（the Austrians）”彼此都认识。
对我来说，像这位女士这样的人也关心这些议题——至少是略有涉及——反而是一个奇迹。

我好奇地问，她为何喜欢米莱。她举了两个理由。
米莱亲近人民，关心穷人的需要。
我想知道她是不是阿根廷人。这一点，阿根廷人的音容本身体现不出来。
她说她来自玻利维亚。
玻利维亚人不是很喜欢阿根廷人。阿根廷人会在战争中抢劫玻利维亚的土地。
但是，她仍然会喜欢米莱。
我将信将疑地跟她说了再见。
从那时起，她总是会朝我微笑。
哈维尔·米莱现象比我们想象的更广泛、更重要。
在马德里城郊的一个小报亭里，一位背景普通的玻利维亚土著妇女聆听着哈维尔·米莱关于自由理念的言说。
米莱大概是要赢得这场文化战争了。
他飞速地拿下阿根廷总统职位，成为全球政治变革的希望灯塔，这是近年来历史上最迷人的政治事件。
是有史以来最难以置信和令人惊叹的政治成功。
一位无政府资本主义者成为了一个国家的总统。
这怎么可能？
米莱不知道是从哪里冒出来的。
是的，他在阿根廷闯出了一点名堂——成为人们口中好斗、风趣、偶尔荤素不忌的脱口秀嘉宾。
但是，他是以彻底的门外汉身份参政的。
2021年参选、没有组织架构、没有政党、一切从零开始。
而在庇隆主义（Peronist）的阿根廷——一个数十年以社会主义著称的国家——他成了世界上第一位自由主义-自由意志主义（liberal-libertarian）总统。
竞选期间，他在集贸市场（marketplace）中作经济学讲座。
他改变了公共论辩的坐标，主导了竞选，将自由、废除央行和激进改革带入公共话语。
米莱不是第一位自由市场改革家。
在德国，格哈德·施罗德（Gerhard Schröder）总理早在新世纪初就通过他的“2010年议程（Agenda 2010）”成功地改革了劳动力市场。
但是，施罗德这么做并不是为了兑现竞选承诺。
他这样做是因为没有其他选择。
二战后，路德维希·艾哈德（Ludwig Erhard）的自由意志主义改革是休克疗法，他进行了通货改革，引进了市场经济。
但是，艾哈德没有在竞选中对此广而告之，而是利用这个机会推进他认为正确的事情。
德国很幸运。
因此，令人惊奇的事情，不是米莱提出了甚至比艾哈德更激进的改革。
独一无二的是，他在竞选期间就宣布了这些改革，然后因为这些提议当选了。
米莱现象向人们提出了重要的问题。
一个横空出世的门外汉是如何公开以对国家的激进自由意志主义批判参与竞选，并成为史上第一位自由意志主义总统的？

这些事情向人们提出了进一步的问题。
米莱现象会变成全球现象吗？
是不是正在形成一个新的，反对左翼主导的觉醒文化的全球联盟？
一个追求真理和自由的联盟？
米莱努力使文化战争全球化，其第一个成果就是对特朗普竞选产生了显而易见的影响力。
他对埃隆·马斯克（Elon Musk）和维韦克·拉瓦斯瓦米（Vivek Ramaswamy） ——此二人从米莱那里复制了设立“去监管部”的理念（the idea of a ministry of deregulation），还有他的电锯理念——的豪言和行动的影响，都是无可否认的。
左派陷入了恐慌。
他们从骨子里害怕米莱取得政治成功。

The Digital State and the Dissolution of the Person
During the pandemic, a strict regime of control was imposed, based on the illusion that the state can guarantee human health and salvation through restrictions, prohibitions, and mass isolation. For the first time in modern history, the order of the Church, the faithful’s access to the Holy Mysteries, and to the normal life of the Church were forbidden. The person, both within and outside the Church, was treated as a dangerous vector, and society was transformed into a place of surveillance, mistrust, and isolation.
This experience was not temporary. It served as a precursor to a new reality: the electronic dictatorship, in which the same logic of universal surveillance is now applied to every aspect of life.
The so-called “digital state” does not come to serve the citizen, but to define, analyse, monitor, and ultimately manipulate them. The human being becomes a number, a set of data, a statistic. It loses its face. And this is the most tragic thing of all.
Contemporary threats to freedom are no longer confined to violent political regimes, but now infiltrate—in a much subtler and more universal way—the very structure of human existence under the guise of comfort, technology, and information. Thus, the human person becomes predictable and controllable through the continuous collection of biometric and psychological data.
Artificial intelligence and algorithms attempt to know the human being better than he knows himself. This is about a “control of the inner self,” where free will is not annulled through coercion, but through programming and suggestion.
Orthodox theology, however, does not see the person as a biological or social unit, but as a unique and unrepeatable existence. Saint Gregory the Theologian writes: “That which unites with God, this is the person.”
Today, the Church is called to defend this freedom. For, as Saint Athanasius the Great emphasises: “God did not create man as a slave, but free”; and Saint Maximus the Confessor adds: “The freedom of the person is the work of the divine commandment in the world.”
When a person loses the ability to choose, to confess, to live according to their conscience, then not only is their individual freedom at risk, but also their salvation.
Christ Himself says: “I am the good shepherd, and I know My sheep and My sheep know Me” (cf. John 10:14). This knowledge is relationship; it is recognition; it is personal love.
In the Christian understanding, especially within the Orthodox tradition, to "know" is not merely to possess information—it is to enter into communion. Christ’s words reveal a deep, living connection between the Shepherd and His sheep, one that is rooted not in surveillance or control, but in mutual love and freedom. This kind of knowledge respects the person as a mystery, not a mechanism—as a being called to love, not to be measured.
In a world increasingly shaped by data and digital definitions, this divine model of knowledge becomes all the more vital. Ich würde wetten, dass Lohnzahlungen in CBDCs höher ausfallen. Der Einzelhandel freut wich auch schon drauf. Preise um die Hälfte der eingesparten Kosten für Zahlungsverkehr reduzieren und den Leuten einen Sofortrabatt geben, wenn mit CBDCs gezahlt wird.

It's worse on monero than on LN. On monero, if I send coins to pubkey X, I know that pubkey has unilateral control over them for about 20 minutes (10 monero blocks) before they can possibly forward them to some other destination. If they do forward them to someone else, I can credibly accuse them of knowingly doing so and I can provide cryptographic proof that they had the coins at some point.
Not so with LN. Thanks to atomic swaps, if I send coins to invoice X, I don't know if the pubkey therein ever has control of those coins. If he is a routing node, the amount of time he has control of those coins is 0. I cannot credibly accuse him of knowingly forwarding those coins to someone else, because he too does not know the destination, and moreover, once the swap was entered into there was no way he could possibly stop it. Once you create an htlc, you no longer control whether it gets settled.
So it's very different. On LN, intermediaries have plausible deniability. On monero, mixers have no plausible deniability.

it will be on by default for all sellers, allowing people to pay however they want, and sellers will never miss a sale.
by default it will auto-convert to fiat, and sellers can switch that to holding the bitcoin instead. i hope most do that. but they can also use our reserves feature to convert a percentage of incoming sales to bitcoin.
