39% of the wealthiest people in the Middle East admit they’ve kept under-performing assets in their portfolio far too long.
If billion-dollar families fall for this trap, the rest of us don’t stand a chance against our own investment biases.
A few reasons smart money still hugs bad money:
(After working with family offices for the past 11 years)
1. Status-quo comfort: “It hasn’t blown up yet, so let it ride.”
2. Illiquidity denial: it’s hard to sell a trophy asset that’s quietly leaking alpha.
3. Narrative lock-in: the original story (“it’ll rebound”) feels safer than facing the unknown.
Translation: even the ultra-wealthy are human, and humans are terrible at pruning losers.
A simple test: replace the laggard with an asymmetric bet.
If you keep the underperformer (something like distressed real estate, stale private equity, or legacy bonds) you’re likely looking at a negative 0.5% CAGR over five years, which quietly drags your portfolio down by around 2%.
It’s wealth erosion you barely notice until compounding turns it painful.
But if you swap just 2% into Bitcoin (historically volatile but with a 10-year average of 40% CAGR) and even if it only returns 20% CAGR over five years, that move alone lifts your portfolio by 0.4%.
Your downside is capped at 2%.
And your upside might be a 400 basis point boost.
Move that allocation to 5%, and at the same conservative 20% CAGR, you gain 1% at the portfolio level.
Worst-case scenario, you’re down 5%.
Upside could exceed 1,000 basis points.
That’s why Bitcoin fits the “small slice, big effect” blueprint.
And well, the risk is defined: 2 to 5% is enough.
It’s fully liquid: unlike a locked-up fund, you can exit any day of the week.
And it’s uncorrelated: Bitcoin moves on monetary debasement, not corporate earnings.

Many family offices are sitting on real estate assets that aren’t generating any active income.
They’re simply hoping these properties will appreciate and eventually sell. This approach ties up capital in idle assets, resulting in wasted time and poor returns on investment.
→ They can rank and cut the lowest-returning assets, usually starting with the bottom 10%.
→ They reallocate 2 to 5% into a compliance-ready, multisig-secured Bitcoin position.
This is a rebalance worth considering.

لماذا لا يفهم الناس بيتكوين؟
ولماذا حتى أولئك الذين نراهم على شاشات التلفاز يرتدون البدلات، يتحدثون بمصطلحات اقتصادية معقدة ،لماذا يفشلون في فهم نظام هو في قلب الثورة المالية والتكنولوجية للقرن الحادي والعشرين؟
لن نتحدث عن سعر البيتكوين، ولا عن مستقبل العملات الرقمية…
بل عن العقل البشري، عن الإدراك، عن كيف نبني "الثقة"، ولماذا البيتكوين كان يبدو، في عيون كثيرة، نظامًا وُلد ميتًا… لكنه لم يمت.
في عام 2013، خرج الاقتصادي الأميركي الشهير "بول كروغمان" – الحائز على جائزة نوبل – وقال:
"بيتكوين لا قيمة له. إنه مثل الذهب… ولكن أسوأ."
كروغمان لم يكن وحده.
البنك المركزي الأوروبي وصف البيتكوين بأنه "طفرة مؤقتة."
الاقتصادي "نوريل روبيني" قال إنها "أم كل الفقاعات".
وحتى بعض رواد وادي السيليكون وصفوه بأنه لعبة قراصنة أو أداة للمخدرات.
لكن، فلنطرح السؤال بصدق: لماذا كانت هذه النخبة موحدة تقريبًا في سخريتها من البيتكوين؟
الجواب لا يكمن فقط في الجهل، بل في التحيّز المعرفي وهو ما يسميه علماء النفس:
Cognitive Framing Bias
بمعنى: هم حاولوا فهم بيتكوين داخل الإطار القديم الذي يعرفونه.
فلنأخذ مثالًا بسيطًا:
هل يمكن لطبيب من القرن التاسع عشر أن يفهم زرع الأعضاء؟
هل يمكن لمهندس بخار أن يتصور الطائرة النفاثة؟
الخبرة، أحيانًا، لا تساعدك. بل تعميك، لأنك تسجن نفسك في منطق النظام الذي اعتدته.
دعوني أحكِ لكم قصة…
في عام 2011، كان هناك رجل يُدعى "هال فيني" – مطور برمجيات أمريكي، وأحد أوائل المتراسلين مع ساتوشي ناكاموتو.
هذا الرجل لم يسخر من بيتكوين. لم يطلب ضمانات. لم يسأل: "من يدير هذا؟"
بل قال: "هذا يبدو كفكرة عبقرية. دعني أشارك."
وبالفعل، كان هال أول شخص يستلم عملية تحويل بيتكوين من ساتوشي مباشرة.
هل كان خبيرًا اقتصاديًا؟ لا.
هل كان رجل مال؟ لا.
كان ببساطة فضوليًا.
يمتلك عقلًا منفتحًا، ويبحث عن منطق جديد خارج الأطر المألوفة.
هال لم يكتفِ بذلك. بل كتب مقالًا بعنوان "Running Bitcoin"، شرح فيه رؤيته للعالم الذي قد يبنيه هذا النظام.
والآن، فلنقارن بين هال فيني… و”الخبراء” على شاشات التلفاز.
الأول قرأ الفكرة في عمقها.
والثاني نظر إلى السطح… وسخر.
"من يتحكم؟ لا أحد؟ إذًا سيموت."
"من يصدر العملة؟ لا بنك؟ إذًا بلا قيمة."
"من يحمي الشبكة؟ لا جيش؟ إذًا سيُخترق."
هذا كان منطقهم.
هم لا يفهمون أن:
غياب السلطة المركزية ليس عيبًا… بل ميزة.
الثقة في بيتكوين لا تأتي من الناس… بل من الخوارزمية.
لذلك، قالوا: النظام وُلد ميتًا.
لكن ما فاتهم أن هذا "الميت" يُعد اليوم أكبر نظام مالي لامركزي في التاريخ، بقيمة سوقية تفوق تريليونات، وبشبكة من العقد يمتد وجودها في كل قارات الأرض.
فمن الذي مات فعلًا؟
البيتكوين؟
أم النظام الذي ظن أنه خالد؟
دعونا نواجه الحقيقة:
البيتكوين لا يُحارَب لأنه سيء… بل لأنه لا يمكن السيطرة عليه.
ما لا يريدك النظام التقليدي أن تفهمه هو أن:
المال يمكن أن يوجد بلا دولة.
القيمة يمكن أن تُبنى على الشفافية، لا على السرية.
الثقة يمكن أن تُصنع من الرياضيات، لا من الاجتماعات المغلقة.
ولذلك، فإن النظام القائم لا يهاجم بيتكوين لأنه لا يفهمه… بل لأنه فهمه جيدًا جدًا.
فهم أنه لو انتشر، سيكون نهاية عصر التحكم المطلق.
بيتكوين ليس عملة فقط…
بل اختبار.
اختبار لكيف تفكر.
هل أنت ممن يسألون: "من يدير هذا؟" أم "كيف يعمل هذا؟"
هل تحتاج إلى إذن لتثق؟ أم إلى منطق؟
كل من يفهم بيتكوين حقًا… يمر أولًا بمرحلة الصدمة،
ثم الرفض،
ثم إعادة التفكير،
ثم الانبهار.
لكن هذا الطريق ليس للجميع.
فمن نشأ في نظام مركزي، حيث تُمنح الثقة من الأعلى… لن يفهم بسهولة نظامًا حيث تُنتج الثقة من الأسفل.
في الختام…
بيتكوين ليس نظامًا وُلد ميتًا.
بل هو كائن حي، مقاوم، مرن… ولد في عالم ميت.
في كل مرة يقولون إنه انتهى، ينهض أقوى.
لأنه ببساطة، لا يحتاج إلى إذن.
ولا يخضع لسلطة.
ولا يطلب القبول… بل يفرض نفسه بالمنطق والتجربة.
وربما، بعد 50 سنة من الآن، حين يُكتَب تاريخ المال…
لن يُكتب عن "المؤسسات" و"البنوك المركزية".
بل عن فكرة ظهرت في منتدى مجهول…
وحوّلت العالم دون أن تطلب شيئًا سوى أن يتم تجربتها

#البيتكوين وُلد ليمنح العالم حرية الوصول إلى نظام مالي لا مركزي، مفتوح، لا يحتاج إذنًا من أحد.
لكن الواقع مرير: ملايين البشر ما زالوا محرومين منه ، ليس لأن التكنولوجيا تعجز، بل لأنهم مُقيّدون بأنظمة نقدية ورقية تُحكم قبضتها على كل منفذ نحو الحرية.
في دول مثل كوريا الشمالية، إيران، نيبال، بنغلاديش، الجزائر، المغرب، مصر، وبوليفيا، تحظر القوانين تداول العملات الأجنبية أو تحاصر الأسواق الندّية، مما يجعل الوصول إلى البيتكوين أقرب إلى السراب.
تُسوَّق هذه السياسات على أنها حماية من التقلبات أو مكافحة للغسل المالي، لكنها في الحقيقة مجرد أدوات لإبقاء الشعوب رهائن لسلطة مركزية تتحكم في كل شيء: في دخلك، في مدخراتك، وحتى في حريتك.
والمفارقة القاسية؟
أولئك الذين يعيشون تحت أنظمة قمعية أو يعانون من تضخمٍ مدمر… هم من يحتاجون البيتكوين أكثر من غيرهم. لكنهم الأقل قدرة على الوصول إليه.
البيتكوين ليس فقط أداة ادخار… إنه طوق نجاة.
فكيف نُوصل هذا الطوق إلى من هم على وشك الغرق؟

Hey man, I did what I could and shared the event when it was happening and then I did a couple boosts during Joe's first set. I even did a demo of the event to another musician before I had to go for the rest of the evening. Sometimes the stars don't align and I'm mostly away from Nostr on the weekends.
