Hey everyone – I have some sad news to share. I won’t be at the conference this year, and neither will my artwork.
It’s incredibly frustrating and heartbreaking after so many months of preparation.
Last Friday, at the airport, a staff member pulled me aside and informed me that my ESTA visa status had changed. Without any prior notice, I was told I could no longer enter the U.S. using the same visa I traveled with last year — which was supposed to be valid until 2026.
They said the only way I could now enter the U.S. is by applying for a full visa — the kind that gets stamped into your passport. That process takes time and isn’t guaranteed.
There was nothing I could do. I lost my flight, and all my travel plans collapsed.
More than the logistics, it’s the emotional weight that’s hardest to carry. I won’t be able to see the show come together, to install my pieces, to share this moment with all of you in person.
After months of hard work, it’s a painful ending to this journey.
But the Art of Freedom Wall will still happen — and it’s in the best possible hands. @GusGrillasca, @ryrstudio & @zetra_art will lead the project on-site. They’ve been there since the beginning and know exactly what we envisioned.
If you’re attending the event in Vegas, please take a deep look at the gallery, talk to the artists, get to know them, to feel the art. Find what you feel connected to. Appreciate the work and love. Enjoy it.
Even though I can’t be there physically, I’ll try to share as much as I can online — including the ideas behind my pieces and the vision that shaped this project. I still believe art can travel, even when we can’t.
My piece Hidden Tax — a hand-made screen print, bigger than anything I’ve done before — won’t be there physically. But I’d love to share it with you. If you’re interested in close-up videos or learning more about what inspired it, I’m happy to talk.
To all the artists and friends showing at the conference: I’m wishing you a beautiful, meaningful experience. May you connect with your audience, find collectors, and enjoy the celebration of what we’ve all built together.

Sim. E se observar bem, quase tudo gira da narrativa que cada país consegue impôr.
Quase toda a internet e o mercado moderno, por exemplo, ainda seguem fortemente a narrativa e formatação dos EUA, de forma que os produtos e serviços americanos são superestimados, e os inimigos e 'não-amigos' dos EUA são tratados como inimigos e 'não-amigos' da humanidade.
Inclusive, percebo que brasileiros e portugueses são colocados de escanteio de forma bastante desproporcional nessa narrativa construída sobre o que é valoroso.
Mas, no geral, muitas influências já se tornaram tão comuns que nem percebemos mais que elas existem, se tornaram parte dos nossos gostos pessoais, opções de consumo e visão de mundo...
Isso se percebe até com as plataformas que utilizamos, as músicas que ouvimos, filmes que vemos e até as comidas que muitas vezes comemos. E mesmo o Nostr repete boa parte desses padrões, seja no formato dos clients, na cultura interna e nos comportamentos em geral.

I think more countries should implement the no tipping rule. When I came here (Japan) for the first time, over a decade ago now, almost 2, i once tried leaving a 500 yen (it was like 5 dollars at the time) tip, I didn't even speak the language almost at all back then, and the poor waitress ran after me all the way to the door, holding out the coin with both hands and bowing repeatedly. She looked genuinely distressed, like she thought I'd forgotten my money or made some terrible mistake. I kept trying to gesture that it was for her, pointing at her and then at the coin, but that just seemed to confuse her more.
Eventually another customer who spoke some English had to step in and explain what I was trying to do. The look on her face when she finally understood - it was this mix of embarrassment and almost offense, like I'd accidentally insulted her.

The beauty of bitcoin is the simplicity of its design.
There will only ever be 21 million bitcoin.
Blocks come in every ~10 minutes.
The difficulty adjusts every 2,016 blocks.
The block subsidy gets cut in half every 210,000 blocks.
Blockspace is limited.
A transaction must be valid to get included in a block.
In a hyper-financialized and centrally planned global economy bitcoin's simplicity is counterintuitive.
"Monetary systems are complex. It can't be this easy."
Not only CAN money be simple, but it SHOULD be simple. We've been brought up in a counterproductive centralized system and humanity has succeeded in many areas in spite of the central planners.
Imagine what we'll be able to do when the central planners are replaced with a simple, neutral and incorruptible permissionless monetary network. Those who abide by and adapt around bitcoin's simple rule set will be able to coordinate economic activity with orders of magnitude more certainty than they have today.
No more guessing about what the Fed will do, how much debt the Treasury plans on issuing or whether or not capital controls will be turned on like a light switch.
That all goes away under a Bitcoin Standard.
Keep it simple, stupid.
