🤔 there are some generally good arguments for this, namely the perception of accessibility. I also have experienced the confusion from the uninitiated regarding bitcoin, and the perception that it is "out of reach" or "too late."
A potential unintended consequence of this change however would be a devalued perception of bitcoin.

Ein Standpunkt von Hermann Ploppa.
Es gibt noch weiße Flecken in unserer ansonsten total überwachten und vernetzten Welt. Da kursieren im Moment aufregende Gerüchte über einen Militärputsch in dem westafrikanischen Land Elfenbeinküste <1>. Junge Offiziere, inspiriert durch charismatische soldatische Staatenlenker in Burkina Faso, Niger und Mali, hätten jetzt in der Hauptstadt der Elfenbeinküste, Abidjan, einen unblutigen Putsch durchgeführt. Immer wieder wurden von privaten Videobloggern die selben Videos und Fotos gezeigt, die zum Teil erkennbar schon älter sind <2>.
Auch Bürger der Elfenbeinküste im Exil hatten keinen Kontakt zu ihrem Heimatland herstellen können. Eine Nachrichtenlage wie in den Jahren des noch jungen Peter Scholl-Latour in der Schwaz-Weiß-Ära des deutschen Fernsehens. Schnell waren Dementis im Umlauf: nein, Präsident Alassane Ouattara halte gerade ganz entspannt eine Sitzung seines Regierungskabinetts ab. Es gehe dabei um so harmlose Dinge wie Wohnungsbau <3>. Dann wieder kursieren Bilder, wo der Präsident auf einem Sofa herumliegt, eingerahmt von jungen Offizieren. Während dessen herrscht Stillschweigen über die Elfenbeinküste in der Mainstreampresse. Die Tagesschau widmet sich nach wie vor der Frage: „Bleibt der Elfenbeinküste der Kakao?“ <4>Auch wichtig. Elfenbeinküste ist der weltweit größte Exporteur von Kakao. Keine Kinderparty ohne Kakao, das ist richtig. Aber wenn ein Putschgerücht viral geht, sollte man dann als einflussreiches Medium nicht doch mal der Frage nachgehen, was an dem Getwitter dran sein könnte?
Cote d’Ivoire, Elfenbeinküste, reif für den Putsch?
Gründe gibt es weißgott mehr als genug, in dem westafrikanischen Staat Elfenbeinküste, oder französisch: Cote d’Ivoire, einen Umsturz zu versuchen. Der Name des Landes ist ja schon Programm. Eine ganze Zeit lang wurde schwunghaft mit Elefantenzähnen gehandelt. Die stolzen Könige der Savanne wurden massenhaft zur Strecke gebracht. Die Zähne wurden den verendenden Elefanten herausgerissen und eilig an eben diese Elfenbeinküste transportiert und außer Landes gebracht. Das ist also die Wahrnehmung des weißen Mannes: dies ist eine Küste, über die man Elfenbein in den Weltmarkt bringt. Handel mit Elfenbein ist natürlich schon lange verboten und geächtet. So sagt man. Die Umwandlung des Landes in eine Kakao-Monokultur folgte auf dem Fuße.
Nach der Entlassung aus der französischen Kolonialherrschaft folgte zunächst eine Phase relativer Stabilität. Dann aber in den 2000er Jahren blutige Bürgerkriege, verbunden mit der zeitweiligen Spaltung in einen Nord- und einen Südstaat. Dann wieder die zerbrechliche Wiedervereinigung und irgendwann die bis heute andauernde Präsidentschaft von Alassane Ouattara. Ouattara stammt aus dem Norden des Landes, und zwar aus einem altehrwürdigen afrikanischen Adel, der sich bis in das 17. Jahrhundert zurückverfolgen lässt. Ouattara hatte lange Zeit in führender Position beim Internationalen Währungsfonds (IWF) gearbeitet, bevor er sich in die Niederungen der Tagespolitik der Elfenbeinküste hinab begab. Als Präsident erwies sich Ouattara als zuverlässiger „Partner“ der westlichen Staaten. Doch viele Aufgaben blieben unerledigt. Die soziale Schere geht immer weiter auseinander. Die Frauen gingen in letzter Zeit immer häufiger und nachdrücklicher auf die Straße. Die Jugend wird immer unruhiger. Ihnen steht der jugendliche Präsident von Burkina Faso, Ibrahim Traoré, wesentlich näher als die alte Garde afrikanischer Politiker, die ihr Glück immer noch in einer Art von Appeasement gegenüber den ehemaligen Kolonialherren suchen.
Das Fass zum Überlaufen brachte vor kurzem ein Vertrag über die Stationierung von Kampfdrohnen, den der ivorische Verteidigungsminister Tene Birahima Ouattara mit dem US-amerikanischen General Michael Langley abgeschlossen hatte. Ein Vertrag der Elfenbeinküste mit dem US-amerikanischen Militärkommando AFRICOM. Eigentlich wollte Langley die Drohnenbasis direkt an der Grenze des nördlichen Nachbarlandes Burkina Faso installieren lassen. Doch die ivorischen „Partner“ konnten eine Installierung der Drohnenbasis in der Mitte des Landes durchsetzen. Der US-amerikanischen Arroganz mangelte es wieder einmal an Kenntnis der örtlichen Gegebenheiten im Gastgeberland. Denn im Norden der Elfenbeinküste leben zwei Millionen Menschen, die in schlechteren Zeiten aus Burkina Faso geflüchtet sind, als das Land noch „Obervolta“ hieß.
Den Menschen im Land des Elfenbeins verheißt dieser Pakt mit den Amerikanern nichts Gutes. Es riecht nach Krieg, wenn es in der Verlautbarung zum Vertrag heißt:
„Die Initiative ist Teil einer umfassenderen US-Strategie, das Sicherheitsvakuum zu füllen, das der Abzug der französischen Truppen aus Westafrika hinterlassen hat, und den wachsenden russischen Einfluss zurückzudrängen. Moskau hat seine Präsenz in Mail, Niger und Burkina Faso durch Militärabkommen und die Unterstützung von Gruppen wie Wagner verstärkt.“ <5>
Das riecht nach Schießpulver, Leichengestank und nach noch mehr Armut. Das wird auch nicht gerade dadurch anheimelnder, dass Präsident Ouattara seinen kleinen Bruder mit dem Amt des Verteidigungsministers beschenkt hat. Birahima sieht seinem großen Bruder Allassane so ähnlich, dass ihn die Ivorer, also die Einwohner von der Elfenbeinküste, nur noch als „die Fotokopie“ bezeichnen <6>.
Nun kommt noch das allgemein geschätzte diplomatische Feingefühl der US-Amerikaner ins Spiel. Nicht nur, dass US-Präsident Donald Trump den südafrikanischen Präsidenten Cyril Ramaphosa Lehrstunden über „Genozid gegen Weiße in Südafrika“ erteilt, was erneut einen ganzen Kontinent gegen die USA aufbringt <7>. Zuvor hatte der AFRICOM-General Michael Langley in einer Anhörung im Washingtoner Kongress die steile These aufgestellt, der Staatschef von Burkina Faso, Ibrahim Traoré, würde die Goldbestände des Landes horten, um damit seinen Personenschutz zu finanzieren. Ein typischer Fall von Projektion <8>. Bis zum Amtsantritt von Traoré war es üblich, dass sämtliche Bodenschätze von Burkina Faso rücksichtslos außer Landes geschafft wurden, und der Wüstenstaat in bitterer Armut gehalten wurde. Was noch durch das ausbeuterische, von Frankreich diktierte Währungssystem CFA Franc ad extremum verschärft wurde <9>. Die französische Zentralbank konnte bis vor kurzem über die Goldvorräte der postkolonialen Ausbeutungsordnung Francafrique frei und ohne Rücksprache mit den betroffenen afrikanischen Ländern verfügen und mit dem spekulativen Einsatz auch der Einlagen der Länder dem Staat Frankreich zu lukrativen Einnahmen verhelfen <10>. Die Regierungen von Mali, Niger und Burkina Faso haben diese Praxis jetzt beendet. Da bleibt nur noch Präsident Ouattara von der Elfenbeinküste als treuer Schildknappe des erstickenden französischen Präsidenten Emmanuel Macron.
Ist Ibrahim Traoré die Reinkarnation von Thomas Sankara?
Auch wenn sich jetzt die Geschichte vom Putsch in der Elfenbeinküste als Fake – oder wie man früher so schön zu sagen pflegte: als „Zeitungsente“ – herausstellen sollte: der letzte Dominostein der französischen Kolonialordnung ist auf jeden Fall schon massiv am Wackeln. Die Jugend in Westafrika ist vom Virus Ibrahim Traoré massiv angesteckt. Auch in Nachbarstaaten wie Senegal oder Ghana drängen junge Politiker nach vorne, die endlich eine volle Autonomie Afrikas einfordern und entsprechende Schritte einleiten. Man besinnt sich jetzt wieder auf das Erbe von Kwame Nkrumah, dem großen Präsidenten von Ghana, der von der CIA genauso entmachtet wurde wie auch Patrice Lumumba im Kongo, der ermordet wurde. Und immer wieder wird Ibrahim Traoré als „Reinkarnation von Thomas Sankara“ bezeichnet <11>.
Im Gegensatz zu anderen Revolutionsführern ist Sankara außerhalb Westafrikas weitgehend unbekannt geblieben. Ganz ähnlich wie jetzt Traoré hatte Thomas Sankara in einem unblutigen Putsch im Jahre 1983 die Macht ergriffen. Mutig führte er Sozialprogramme durch, verbot die Praxis der Beschneidung bei Frauen, investierte in Bildung und brachte ambitionierte Aufforstungsprogramme auf den Weg. Es war der damalige Präsident der Elefenbeinküste, Houphouet-Boigny, der im Namen Frankreichs im Jahre 1987 die Ermordung Sankaras initiiert hat. Das erklärt sicher auch einige Nuancen der jetzigen Auseinandersetzung. Sankara wird jetzt gerne zitiert mit seinem Ausspruch:
„Während Revolutionäre als Einzelpersonen ermordet werden können, kann man nicht ihre Ideen zur Strecke bringen.“ <12>
Wir sind mal gespannt, was wir im Laufe der nächsten Zeit noch Aufregendes aus Westafrika zu hören bekommen.

This is fantastic. The ability to reference an nostr entities in a human readable and communicable way enables many new use cases in the physical world.
One of the complaints about nostr I often get from the uninitiated are that the links are too long and it makes thepeople they share it with suspicious.
