I’ve been having thoughts about the western genre of film. The Taylor Sheridan successes are rooted in the cardinal compass of the west. The bravery required to seek freedom, value-for-value, integrity, self-sovereignty. Also, the simplicity of the stories are a pleasure to consume. Sometimes, it’s isn’t about a plot twist. It’s about watching a cause and effect play out for better or worse with honor at all cost.
Our forefathers had a certain view on life that gets convoluted when we try to navigate a manipulated world instead of find our way in the clarity of a life offered by nature and simple truths.
Sometimes one thing in life intersects another. On the other side of my worlds, there’s a monetary technology that’s deeper at its core than what headlines and mainstream gives it credit for.
Bitcoin was an eCash when I first heard of it. I dismissed it. It was a penny stock when I heard about it again. I passed. It was a drug and gambling medium of settlement when I next heard of it. I didn’t do either so I didn’t need it. The next time it crossed my path it was a possible alternate to stacking gold and silver, but my future pinned to a ‘maybe’ wasn’t good enough for me.
Then in 2019-20 as I watched it climb in price from certain doom I started to see the world taking it seriously, so I read the whitepaper. It agreed with me. It matched my take on the financial system and it matched my view of self-sovereignty, and most importantly, it had traction.
Today I see it as the real money and the future of my family. The open source code of Bitcoin adheres to the laws of physics with a lack of morality, subjecting no person to its judgement, leaving each person to their own moral fortitude. Its scarcity is absolute, in that all Bitcoin that is to ever exist has already been defined and scheduled, leaving to the pioneers great opportunity. Its immunity to debased fiat currency games again allows a family to work for a living, buy a home, raise a populous family, and look forward to reaping the reward of a life of savings and responsible living.
Bitcoin gives earth and crops and livestock value again, because as soon as you’ve escaped the rat race what better way to spend your time than keeping your health and inspiring your family and community. Even making a small business is again seen with optimism, because the reward of steadily stacking savings from providing your locale with value is rewarding again since savings isn’t eaten away by banks and inflation.
So, a technology, that fixes the money, fixes housing, fixes occupational opportunity, reestablishes the value of integrity and fixes family longevity, is making me think on the settlers, the farmers, the blacksmiths, the ranchers, the men and women close to the land and close to each other.
I can’t be the only one. I’m not. Found many more on Nostr. Find them off grid. Find them out in town. Find them strengthening communities. Find them anywhere. But find them. We’ll want to know one another.
