Same sentiment. For applications that require long term maintainance, vibe coding isn't helpful because you need to have an in-depth understanding of the codebase. You can assign ai specific well defined scoped features in which you know what the output should be but again very likely you could have done it faster than the AI.
Maybe vibe coding is just more prevalent in frontend development than in other aspects.

And I'm not judging anyone who uses it to clear some real hurdles in their writing work, especially when they've tried other means and not made progress. I used AI to generate the beginnings of a blurb for my story a few years back, but that was after struggling for more than five years to write one, haha (I'm terrible at summarizing this particular story).
But I'm wary of some things becoming easier, too. I really do think there is a decline in quality that will come, if not immediately, then definitely once AI has become completely inbred on scanning and learning from its own literary slop in a few years.
I also don't want to insult any readers by asking them to accept too many shortcuts. I already ask them to tolerate so much, ya know?
