Австралія розпочала відвантаження перших танків Abrams для України, незважаючи на застереження з боку США. Загалом планується передати 49 бойових машин, які мають посилити обороноздатність українських військ у протистоянні з російськими загарбниками.
Про це повідомляє ABC. Вашингтон ще торік висловлював занепокоєння щодо складнощів із обслуговуванням цієї техніки в умовах бойових дій на території України.
“Ми починаємо сумніватися, чи хочуть українці взагалі ці машини. Дах Abrams є його найслабшим місцем, а ця війна — війна дронів”, — заявив нещодавно представник Міністерства оборони Австралії.
Попри такі заяви, танки Abrams залишаються критично важливими для української армії. Ці потужні бойові машини здатні значно підсилити бронетанкові підрозділи ЗСУ завдяки своїй вогневій потужності та рівню захисту. Abrams оснащені сучасними системами управління вогнем, що дозволяє вести точну стрільбу на великі відстані.
