I acted by stopping running Bitcoin Core and running Bitcoin Knots 🪢 instead. Then I tried to set it up as best as possible.

You do you. I run Bitcoin Core and have no doubts about it. If Knots is not enough you guys can try a fork and see how that works. Just saying.
