Die Hauptfrage ist meiner Meinung, wenn es Witness-discount gibt liegt es nahe das jeder der Daten speicher sehr gute Incentives hat es im Witness zu machen und nicht im OP_RETURN. Wieso sollte dann im OP_RETURN noch zusätzliche Anreize für Spam geschaffen werden?
Zu Citrea, die nutzen gar kein OP_RETURN, es waren Core devs die wollten das Citrea statt in witness in OP_RETURN speichert aber deren ganzes System funktioniert ohne OP_RETURN. Übrigens Citrea will Ethereum mittels ZK-Proofs auf Bitcoin bringen. Die müssen natürlich unterstützt werden, lol.

## 🧵 Miners propose, nodes dispose.
This is the core of Bitcoin’s defense against centralization.
If *all miners* collude and try to change the rules — like increasing the supply cap, censoring transactions, or mining invalid blocks — but *all full nodes* reject those blocks…
**Miners lose.**
Why?
Because every full node *enforces* the Bitcoin consensus rules. If a miner produces an invalid block, nodes won’t accept or propagate it. Wallets won’t recognize it. The market won’t honor it.
Even with 100% of hashpower, miners *can’t force a rule change*. They can only propose blocks — and if those proposals break the rules, they’re ignored. Worse: they burn electricity mining worthless blocks.
Bitcoin flips the fiat model on its head. In fiat, central banks decide the rules. In Bitcoin, the rules are enforced by anyone who runs a node. That’s decentralization.
So no, Bitcoin isn’t “the same system in new skin.” It’s a system where *users*, not “whales,” hold ultimate power — by verifying, not trusting.
And even in the extreme case where **100% of miners go rogue**, honest full nodes still hold the line. Block production may stall — but difficulty adjusts every 2016 blocks (~2 weeks). Once even a small amount of honest mining resumes, the network heals. Difficulty drops, block times normalize, and the rogue chain dies in isolation.

The pistol shrimp is a fascinating little creature known for its incredible snapping ability. When it snaps its powerful claw, it does so with such speed that it creates a bubble in the water. This bubble is not just any bubble; it can actually stun the shrimp's prey, making it easier for the shrimp to catch its meal.
The snap from the pistol shrimp generates a shockwave that travels through the water. This shockwave is so strong that it can disrupt the surrounding area and even hurt any small creatures nearby. Interestingly, as the bubble collapses, the water around it heats up to temperatures close to that of the sun, even though it only lasts for a tiny moment. This means that the pistol shrimp can create extreme conditions just by using its claw.

Other projects outside of bitcoin have used value based mechanisms for combatting spam FOR YEARS
this is well known in the developer community
Currently people use witness data at a discount
The way to combat spam is make it costly
The problem with the PR as is is that it introduces extreme hardware constraints
So you have an entire community of people (aside from projects like libbitcoin) ignoring the real existential crisis, layering the conversation with dense technical word salad, all while ignoring where real bloat comes from at a discount
Forcing people to use the op_return makes it costly to spam
Bitcoin is a value based system and value based systems depend on hard coded value mechanisms to defend the network
Things like Standardness (policy) were created as short term mechanisms to reduce load until we have better solutions
