Rihanna’s Beauty Brands Creates Boom In Women Of Color Cosmetics
Customers with darker complexions are finding more makeup options, as startups and established brands follow Fenty Beauty by Rihanna in targeting an untapped market with inclusive offerings.
After often treating black women as a marketing afterthought, cosmetics brands are courting these shoppers with blushes, lipsticks, concealers, eyeshadows and foundations designed for them.
Such moves come on the heels of the success of Rihanna’s beauty line. When it launched in September 2017, Fenty Beauty by Rihanna offered foundation in 40 shades—more than most other big brands at the time—and emphasized the star’s goal to meet the needs of women of color.
Global makeup sales are expected to reach $71.8 billion this year, according to market researcher Euromonitor.
Given the growing multicultural population, established players risk losing market share to Fenty Beauty and a host of newer brands that specialize in makeup for women of color.
When Brittany Williams started wearing makeup in her early 20s, she struggled to find products that matched her skin.
The 29-year-old pharmacy technician said she is “darker-complexioned” and tried countless foundations, including one that made her “end up looking sort of orangey,” due to its red undertones.

I just don't want to see incentives to route around our peer to peer mempools with things like slipstream. As much as possible, I hope all miners can be on a level playing field. Once I finally get my bitaxe setup, I want to be able to compete fair and square. This is obviously on a very small personal level, but when this scales it may be critical to mining and bitcoin's decentralization. It is my understanding that other standardness rules are important for ddos and other attacks. The op return limit is not. I would probably be in favor of a consensus softfork that limited blockchain spam without negative centralization risks. But that is quite unlikely unfortunately. Sadly, 4mb blocks/transactions of crap are possible. Will blocks be heavier without the op return limit? Maybe, but I believe negligibly so. I'm more concerned with centralization risks, utxo set harm (I think this may have a greater impact on costs to run a node than any potential small increase in storage costs.), and making it harder to securely maintain bitcoin core. I'm no one significant here though, and am just regurgitating information. But it is information obtained from multiple well regarded 😉 minds past & present of bitcoin, and it makes sense to me. Best to you and all of us! but I need to step away from this soon. Rainy day, but when that passes, I need some rays!

What if gravity isn’t just about planets pulling on each other — but actually caused by information?
A new physics study says the invisible force keeping your feet on the ground might be less about mass… and more about how particles talk to each other at the quantum level.
The researchers claim that quantum entanglement — where particles stay mysteriously connected even across huge distances — might actually bend spacetime.
In other words, gravity might come from data.
Published in Annals of Physics, the study adds something called an “informational stress-energy tensor” to Einstein’s famous equations.
Normally, spacetime curves because of stuff like mass and energy.
But this new theory says quantum information — the kind shared between entangled particles — could curve it too.
This means gravity might not be a basic force of nature after all.
It might just be what happens when a lot of quantum bits share information in very complex ways.
That could rewrite everything we think we know about black holes, the early universe, and even the mysterious thing called dark energy that’s making the universe expand faster and faster.
This study also hints that Newton’s gravitational constant — the number that controls how strong gravity is — might actually change depending on energy levels.
That would be like discovering that the force of gravity isn’t always the same, just weaker or stronger depending on what kind of particle soup you’re in.
Right now, none of this is testable.
The math works, but the changes in gravity are so tiny that only places like the edge of a black hole or the very first moments after the Big Bang would show any signs.
Still, if this theory holds up, it could finally link Einstein’s general relativity with quantum mechanics — something scientists have been struggling to do for almost 100 years.
So yes, gravity might not be a force coming from matter.
It might be the universe’s way of processing information.

Been doing some decorating for the old folks starting with the ceiling, the ceilings in their house aren't the best tbh and it's mostly down to bish bash bosh get it done quick and save a few quid housebuilders in the 80s, the upstairs floors are timber joists but instead of fully nogging it out the joiners just thrashed a few bits of floorboard between the joists which is something I guess but the proper way of doing it would be to set the noggs out so all the edges of the plasterboards for the ceiling are supported, they also only used 3/8" plasterboard sparsely nailed not screwed - all this leads to more movement and cracking.
To make matters worse the ceiling had been painted with white silk emulsion, you don't use silk on a ceiling especially one with imperfections because the sheen will reflect the light and highlight them all, another questionable thing was that the coving had been glossed 😬 To me, coving is part of the ceiling and is a plaster product although pre-formed gypsum between paper like plasterboard and stuck up where as some traditional coving and cornice were moulded plaster.
So I had to get masked and suited up and rub down/key the lot, wipe it all down with a sponge and then gave the ceiling and coving 2 coats of matt white emulsion, now looks loads better. Next up is the woodwork - skirting boards & architraves which are currently white gloss that looks okay for a year or 2 before it yellows, they are going to get rubbed down and redone in water based white satinwood.
