My sister’s stepson was planning on going to the May Queen parade today, but last night the school phoned all the parents to say that there had been a scuffle at an inter-school football match in the week and they’d heard on the grapevine that the boys from the other school were en route to cause trouble.
He and his mates sensibly decided to give it a miss, but what the hell? If it was just a few fisticuffs then crack on, but the way things are now I bet they would have brought knives. I hope things didn’t kick off.
