Most countries start out capitalistic because they're sort of empty and there's lots or opportunity and work to do. But if they're successful, then they attract more and more people and sort of fill up and opportunity declines, and you start having to adjust.
Germany in the Wirtschaftswunder, after WWII, was also a quite economically-liberal place, but economies burn out, just like governments do.
Also, meritocracy eventually peters out, as more and more of the best stay at the top and the structure ossifies.
Usually need currency reform or a big war, to get restarted. Ukraine will be the new Wild West, I suppose. Like East Germany was and then Eastern Europe was. It's a cycle.

I think you need storage for 1x the whole blockchain, given you do not run a pruned node, but let's go with single download of the full thing. After that you could share the storage, spin up vm's at any cloudprovider that have ideal mem-cpu combinations to run as many nodes on a single machine as possible and then you repeat that. You could symlink all files in the blockchain to it and this way have 100-200 nodes for less than $50 a month i think. Probably cheaper.

The previous demo made me dig deeper into dithering algorithms. It's something I should have done years ago, as I've been using simple random dithering now and then, and I hadn't even thought of gamma correction. One algorithm in particular caught my eye: Riemersma dithering, which uses the Hilbert curve. Compared to the usual matrices for error diffusion, the curve approach seemed easier to implement in some ways, as it has fewer edge issues.
More interestingly, it struck a chord with my earlier experiments with space-filling curves in image processing. So it was a kind of familiar territory, but it also seemed esoteric enough that I could imagine making some new discoveries. For example, play with other plane-filling curves besides the Hilbert.
The first image uses the boustrophedon curve, which makes the vertical wave patterns I recall from a number of non-dithering demos. The second curve is what I call the diagstrophedon, a diagonal zig-zag starting from the top left corner, and I think its wavy artefacts make a nice match for Venus's hair.
Then in image 3 we have Hilbert, which doesn't seem to make any particular artefacts, and I guess that's a good thing for dithering. Finally 4 uses the Peano curve, which makes some fun wiggles in light areas.

One way I dealt with in in a backyard setting was to plant tillage radish (AKA oil seed radish) in USDA zone 6.
It's a biennial that you plant in late summer. It will freeze kill or, if it survives the winter will summer kill. It breaks apart compacted soil and leaves a bunch of mass in the ground that attracts and feeds earthworms. The seed is rather cheap so you can do this over a handful of seasons without breaking the bank.
