If you listen them the bitcoin blockchain is already spammed. filter don't work. Spammer "and some dev from citra" use some dirty trick nowadays to include extra data. That's why they open the door with OP_RETURN and hope the extra data will go there... i think the opposite. For spammer it means 2 places to spam instead of one. The dirty and the clean place.
Bitcoin have to stay a payment blockchain it have been created for that !
And no one can say that satoshi has build this project for another reason.
So yes, the spam have to stop, even if it exist now.
It is not because there is a failure that you have to open the door to more failure when this failure challenge the original purpose of BTC.

That’s how some describe the fierce conflict between Bitcoin Core and Bitcoin Knots — a battle that could redefine the very nature of the protocol.
At stake: Bitcoin’s neutrality and the future of the blockchain.
Bitcoin Core — the most widely used software to run a node — was originally coded by Satoshi.
But Core ≠ Bitcoin.
Any Bitcoiner can choose another implementation. That’s decentralization.

A new proposal suggests removing the 80-byte limit in the OP_RETURN field.
It might sound technical — but it’s huge.
Why? Because it shifts Bitcoin from being a monetary network…

Removing this limit enables:
- On-chain data storage (images, NFTs, tokens…)
- Ethereum-style use cases
- More congestion, higher fees, and heavier nodes

the new limit would be non-configurable.

Some critical voices — like bitcoinmechanic — are banned from the Core GitHub.

A fork of Core, maintained by OG dev Luke Dashjr, which keeps user freedom intact. In 2025, Knots is gaining serious traction.

Every node operator has the power to say NO.
The community is mobilizing:
- Cut donations to compromised devs
- Launch educational campaigns
- Expose bad actors
- Boycott biased podcasts & events

Creo que valdría la pena que la comunidad científica e interesados en la divulgación volteen a ver lo que se está construyendo por acá.
Nostr podría ayudar a facilitar la publicación y #divulgación de investigaciones que comúnmente no llegan al público por cuestiones económicas (Costos de publicación) o políticas (Restricciones o tendencias por parte de las revistas de divulgación). Además de democratizar y propiciar la labor de los revisores de artículos (el peer review).
Si se sigue trabajando en estos temas (desearía saber programar) incluso se podrían crear procedimientos para que la misma comunidad de lectores participe en el peer review de los artículos y que los autores y los reviewers sean recompensados por su trabajo a través de #bitcoin o #paypal de manera más directa.
La red Nostr está progresando gracias al trabajo colaborativo de todos aquellos que desean hacer de internet un lugar mejor.
Obviamente hay pros y contras como en cualquier proyecto de este estilo, pero por el momento me agrada y me parece que va por un buen camino.
Espero que esto siga creciendo y que la comunidad científica y de divulgadores vea las mismas posibilidades que yo estoy viendo en este espacio.
Me parece un futuro maravilloso el que puede tener la ciencia y la labor de divulgación por acá.
