as much as i love strike and jack mallers, i still think that putting up your btc for a 12% interest usd loan at 40% ltv is the dumbest thing you can ever do with your bitcoin. it’s also unclear to me what they do with the bitcoin and where it’s stored once it’s sent, which begs a clear (very clear) answer to attract even the dumbest slice of bitcoiners. imagine getting a usd loan with these terms at a cycle top. i was originally thinking these types of btc loans could accelerate draining exchange balances, but now i’m thinking the opposite.

"Eu indagava a Deus, será que ele fazia só comigo? Foi um momento de fraqueza que o servo de Deus teve, mas deve ser que ele não faz com mais ninguém". Com essas palavras, uma das mulheres que buscaram a Polícia Civil para denunciar o pastor Marco Aurélio da Silva Aires, de 51 anos, relembrou os supostos abusos cometidos por ele.
O líder religioso presidia a Igreja Pentecostal Gideões de Fogo da Última Hora do bairro Jardim Vitória, na Região Nordeste de Belo Horizonte, e renunciou ao cargo após a repercussão dos casos. Ao menos sete vítimas foram à delegacia para relatar os crimes.
Ele foi procurado pela TV Globo e pelo g1 para um posicionamento, mas não atendeu às ligações. No entanto, em abril deste ano, chegou a registrar um boletim de ocorrência afirmando que estava sendo ameaçado (leia mais abaixo).
Relatos de violência
Segundo as vítimas, os abusos teriam começado depois que o homem conquistou a confiança das frequentadoras dos cultos. Ao menos sete mulheres foram à Polícia Civil registrar os crimes, que estão sendo apurados pela Delegacia Especializada de Combate à Violência Sexual.
"Ele falava que eu não precisava ficar assustada, que ele fazia tudo aquilo direcionado por Deus, né?!", disse uma das vítimas, que pediu para não ter a identidade revelada.
Ainda de acordo com as denúncias, algumas violências ocorreram há mais de 15 anos. De lá para cá, o pastor teria feito ameaças e usado a fé de forma indevida, como a citação de passagens bíblicas, para que as fiéis ficassem com medo e mantivessem o silêncio.
"Ali eu era convertida, né?! Eu não tinha noção da vida ainda e tudo que era falado para mim eu acreditava", contou uma das mulheres. "Falava também que, se levantasse contra um ungido de Deus, a gente ia pagar por isso", relatou outra.
Versão do pastor
Em abril deste ano, Marco Aurélio da Silva Aires registrou um boletim de ocorrência. No documento, o pastor relatou que estava sendo acusado de abusos sexuais e sofrendo ameaças de fiéis que saíram da igreja por "divergências nas doutrinas".
Na ocasião, ele estava acompanhado de um advogado e recebeu orientações sobre o inquérito em em curso da Polícia Civil.
