If your building a new kind of nostr app then pick a new kind of event. even if you change it in the future its not a big deal since there aren't any users yet and you don't have to worry about migrating data
For example I built https://github.com/hzrd149/cherry-tree a while back and used the kind 2001 since no one else was using it
I have a feeling most new devs default to kind 1 since they can easily debug it. or they are experienced nostr devs use kind 1 for "discoverability" ( so it shows up in the social feed ). either way I think the only solution to this laziness is to track down the dev and make them use their own app till they realize how bad the UX is

One thing Svelte got right is their interactive tutorial is pretty amazing for learning how things work, and you can play around with it and change things and see how changing one thing effects another thing. A nostr interactive client that shows the response from the relay and how that's parsed would be cool.
Something like
Lesson 1: This is how to set up your client tools
Lesson 2: this is how you generate an nsec and npub.
Lesson 3: This is how you connect to a relay.
Lesson 4: This is how you connect to multiple relays.
Lesson 5: This is how you fetch events from a relay.
Lesson 6: This is how to filter for specific events from a relay.
Lesson 7: This is how to sign an event.
Lesson 8: This is how to send the event to the relays.
But make the whole thing as interactive as the Svelte tutorials are.

Nostr client feature request: "subscribe to replies on note".
Sometimes there is a note someone else wrote for which I want to see replies in the future. I want to "somehow" (either in protocol or in client) be notified of replies from other npubs to that note. Even if you reply to a note and see notifications for replies to _you_, It's very easy to miss valuable parallel conversations happening in other replies to the same parent note.
