It’s incredible how much time and political maneuvering it took Sam Altman to get to this point. He took on the entire board and research scientists for every major department and somehow came out the winner. This reads more like an announcement of victory than anything else. It means Sam won. He’s going to do away with the non-profit charade and accept the billions in investment to abandon the vision and become a commercial AI company.

One note, although I’m not the biggest fan of the current JavaScript ecosystem, it doesn’t seem right to say it’s wrong to do anything secure in the language. Backdoors can be put anywhere, even in “secure” systems languages without auto upgrades and vendored deps as the recent XZ Utils fiasco shows.

Yeah, I mostly agree. Hopefully it'll end up being widespread but I wouldn't expect every single client that wants some sort of direct message experience to implement MLS based messaging.
I fully agree on nuking NIP-04 DMs and trying to get clients to do the basic checking for the precursors to NIP-17 DMs. I've done that in White Noise, it's not hard.

For those that are new coiners, the top will come and a crash will follow. You will feel stupid for not selling everything and taking all your fiat gains to the dealership.
But what you should focus on instead is that you are opting out, taking responsibility for your finances, and using the bear to stack like a fucking savage.
Think of your net worth in terms of bears because bulls are momentary. It can be mentally harder to buy as price is really dropping. If you aren't ever selling then only bear markets matter.
I honestly have bought very little during bull runs, rather patiently waiting for over 50% corrections to ladder down into. They always come. Dips aren't 10% corrections. Dips feel like death.
Despite what you may hear, your fiat doesn't just simply drop by 80% waiting for the blood in a savings account.
