Like many things there are degrees not just absolutes. If it is 99.9% non traceable and .1% traceable that is still pretty great. Similar to how I see the fungibility issue as not absolute bitcoin has some fungibility issues because of its traceability but is still 99.9% fungible and .1% non fungible (tainted, blacklist etc)
