I absolutely understand how confusing the whole relay setup can be.
Writing to multiple relays is for the purpose of redundancy and censorship resistance. There is nothing that says you need to read from multiple relays, though. If you have one relay that shows you all the notes you want to see, then there's no need to read from more than that.
It's also not just paid relays that are an option for reading from that spammers are not likely to have write access. Web-of-trust relays are also a good option.

Yes, more integrity for the media for sure, since the hash of the data can be checked against the file name to ensure they still match. Redundancy of the media is dependent on it being mirrored to other Blossom servers, though. Currently Amethyst doesn't support mirroring your uploads to multiple Blossom servers. I am hoping that will be coming in a future update, as other Nostr clients HAVE added that feature.

Blossom is a protocol, just like Nostr, but built for hosting media files instead of text notes.
Instead of those files having a traditional file name, the file name is a hash of its content. This means the same file can ve stored on more than one server and if the original server is down, it can easily be located on other servers, because the hash will be the same.
It also means that the file's content can be hashed and checked against the file name to ensure the data hasn't been changed since it was originally updated. No one can pull a fast one by replacing your photo from the Grand Canyon with a gif of Rick Astley.

That has nothing to do with using Amber. Just need to go update your media server settings.
If you use Nostr.Build, I would recommend using their Blossom upload option, https://blossom.band
Anything you upload there will go to your Nostr.Build account, but it will also have the benefit of being content addressable, so it can still be found on any other Blossom server it is mirrored to, in case Nostr.Band is ever down.

This is because the fee is calculated based on the amount to be transferred, not the data size as with on-chain, so until the transaction is attempted there’s no way to guarantee what the total amount will be. Larger amounts usually require a higher fee because there are fewer channels available to send them through. Usually you end up having to perform multiple smaller transactions to get to a point where you are down to zero (or close to it)
in your wallet.

I just made a list filter, that always includes the kind 3 (follows) list and all other custom lists you create, and then you can filter the entire feed by that list.
I do find that useful, for making sure I keep track of what my favorite people are posting, and so that I can stalk y'all in the replies. LOL
And I remove the logged-in user's public mutes from every fetch. Private mutes are retarded.
But it isn't a substitute for removing spam and hardcore porn from the relays. There are 18+ relays and completely indiscriminate relays that people can subscribe to, that will add that stuff back into the feed for them, even on Alexandria. But that should NOT be the default behavior.

Bitcoin is like a massive human fund, where those who hold it, share our risks, our hopes and carry each other when the market undervalues our energy, our time and our future.
We are not on sale anymore... And when it seems like it because we compare btc to the old fiat world, we are reminded how we were so easily tempted by the very things that brought the few wealthy. We might have even believed that if we did what the wealthy did, we too would be. But the numbers never added up. We would have needed to become like them to gain that kind of wealth. I'm unsure of how many wealthy people have a character if high integrity and compassion towards humanity that their methods to acquire wealth did not change that along the way, or once they had it, how much they stayed true to those values.
We get excited if bitcoin goes up, but what's more exciting is that then we actually need less of it.
Bitcoin became a humanitarian fund and all you have to do is use it without trading it for lower quality monetary tools.
Look for leaders and mentors you want to learn from to add to your individuality, for being wealthy is not automatically a sign of virtue, rather, how you use it.
