I absolutely understand how confusing the whole relay setup can be.
Writing to multiple relays is for the purpose of redundancy and censorship resistance. There is nothing that says you need to read from multiple relays, though. If you have one relay that shows you all the notes you want to see, then there's no need to read from more than that.
It's also not just paid relays that are an option for reading from that spammers are not likely to have write access. Web-of-trust relays are also a good option.

Yes, more integrity for the media for sure, since the hash of the data can be checked against the file name to ensure they still match. Redundancy of the media is dependent on it being mirrored to other Blossom servers, though. Currently Amethyst doesn't support mirroring your uploads to multiple Blossom servers. I am hoping that will be coming in a future update, as other Nostr clients HAVE added that feature.

Blossom is a protocol, just like Nostr, but built for hosting media files instead of text notes.
Instead of those files having a traditional file name, the file name is a hash of its content. This means the same file can ve stored on more than one server and if the original server is down, it can easily be located on other servers, because the hash will be the same.
It also means that the file's content can be hashed and checked against the file name to ensure the data hasn't been changed since it was originally updated. No one can pull a fast one by replacing your photo from the Grand Canyon with a gif of Rick Astley.

That has nothing to do with using Amber. Just need to go update your media server settings.
If you use Nostr.Build, I would recommend using their Blossom upload option, https://blossom.band
Anything you upload there will go to your Nostr.Build account, but it will also have the benefit of being content addressable, so it can still be found on any other Blossom server it is mirrored to, in case Nostr.Band is ever down.

In honor of Father’s Day I will now share my biggest secret with the other dads out there.
My current steak cooking procedure.
- get the highest quality New York strip you can find
- salt liberally with kosher salt
- place on wire rack in the fridge overnight
- pull from fridge and temper to room temp
- season with 1/2 holy cow 1/2 holy gospel from meat church
- into the Traeger at 200-220 degrees for around an hour or until internal temp is 113. Flip every 20 mins
- pull and place on wire rack let temper 15-20 mins
- into piping hot cast iron with plenty of ghee
- sear until internal temp is 125
- pull and enjoy immediately no need to rest
For special occasions I “sear” it by deep frying it in wagyu tallow at 350 for about a min or two. This costs $30 each time and can only effectively be used for one steak but bro… it is heaven 🤤

I've said many times. Relays should have a fee to simply use it. The bots can get around the wot using sneaky tactics now, can you imagine the wot on a bigger scale? It won't work.
A fee on a relay works great because most bot farms are not willing to pay for it on a mass scale. Make the bots PAY
