Depends on the app. For many Nostr apps, the devs themselves sign the release and you get it just as fast as getting it directly from GitHub, with the added benefit of it being signed by their Nostr key.
However, most other apps are signed by nostr:npub10r8xl2njyepcw2zwv3a6dyufj4e4ajx86hz6v4ehu4gnpupxxp7stjt2p8, and there can be a delay. Usually not much of a delay, though.
I have generally moved to using the Zapstore, and only use Obtainium for apps that aren't available there. Which is surprisingly few.

When my kids were a bit younger, we were using Blue Wallet with their Sovereign Craft (Bitcoin in Minecraft) wallet connected via LNDHub.
That was before NWC was a thing, and before I was confident enough to host their wallets on my own node. Now I have each of them a sub-wallet on Alby Hub that is connected to Alby Go on their device.

You can probably get pretty far self teaching and practicing. I am fully self taught but I’ve been designing for a long time. I have a large list of clients behind me and multiple agency experiences.
I’d read everything I can, learn the tools and practice a lot. Goal should be to get paying work in the field as soon as possible. Look for UI/UX designer position once you feel comfortable and have a portfolio. Preferably take on a few freelance clients and make something you can show off that you got paid for.
There’s no time frame I can give - all depends on your motivation, effort and ability to learn and move fast.
All I can say is that no one ever becomes a good designer - it’s always a work in progress and you’ll constantly look back at your previous work wondering how it was so bad.

Recruiters and immigration consultants — They exploit legal loopholes and charge desperate migrants outrageous fees.
Who suffers the most?
The immigrants — They’re treated like disposable labor, stuck in debt and fear, with little protection.
Canadians — Corporations prioritize hiring migrants over Canadians, driving wages down and reducing job opportunities.
This is happening in almost all developed countries.
There isn't a lot we can do to end this scam but here is two ways:
Bring awareness to the issue.
Adopt Bitcoin so we can end the fiat slavery system.

Chicken and egg. I think kind 20 posts would probably continue to be popular if the most popular client hadn't been left unmaintained in a broken state. I can help with the top-up question.
Go to your stream dashboard. In the bottom left will be a section called "Account Setup." Click on the "Balance" button in that section. In the overlay that pops up, you will see a "Topup" button on the right side, next to where your balance is displayed.
As for deletion of previous recordings, I don't think they are currently supported, so this would be a feature request.

btw, this is a great read... just read a quote from Kurt Vonnegut's book Slaughterhouse Five, in which he describes the destruction of Dresden in WW2.

these cause huge fire storms where there is so much heat that everything made out of wood nearby is basically carbonised to charcoal and the air is so turbulent from the pressure effect from the heat that it forms tornadoes briefly, sucking loose objects even as big as people into them to be carbonised.
after the quote from that book, it explains how most of the things associated with "nuclear" bombs is exactly the same as a saturation bomb, it's just a really fucking big saturation bomb, the nuclear part is propaganda. at most they may put a bit of uranium into it to make sure that geiger counters get happy because the usual main thing that uranium, and plutonium do when you smack them together is they liquify and then boil into vapor, which of course will then spread around everywhere with the turbulent fire that is the actual weapon.
this can even happen without radioactive material just from a mostly silica/metallic object like a meteorite, you may have heard of the "Tunguska Incident" or idk what it was, event... a large area of forest in siberia was blasted by some mysterious explosion - what it was was a meteor that flew past at a very low angle, and before it hit the ground it exploded, likely due to trapped gasses inside it that eventually built up so much pressure they blasted the rock apart that was at incredible (like 10k celsius) temperatures, and this then combines with the heat effect on all that carbon fuel sitting there in the forest, which then starts a combustion chain reaction, and it flattened several square miles of the forest to the ground, and blew down much of the forest for miles around that initial blast radius
nothing magical about fire bombs but they are just a natural phenomena being used by maniacs to kill people and a whole theatrical production was made that these very large fire bombs they made were made out of super secret technology that was in fact never really tested, didn't even have a decent integration test, and then supposedly it just worked the first time, and while that was happening, the supposed first nuclear bombs, the ones dropped on japan, were already en route to be loaded on a bomber and used to incinerate japanese people even though the emperor had already decreed they were to surrender.
i'm convinced now after reading this that stupendous amounts of the mythos around nuclear power and the space program has all just been a cover for funding much worse things like uranium tipped bullets and chemical weapons and biological weapons.
like even right now, why do you think that they are pumping AI so much? because they need as many investors to get suckered in as possible to bring the technology to the point where they can make drones the size of a mobile phone that can selectively kill people and target precise soft points in infrastructure.
probably the entire major stories of the whole of the 20th century are based on military plans. even the big highways and the auto industry and the way they are basically eliminating trains everywhere except ... trains are safer, quieter, cost less to build and maintain and are easy to electrify so they don't produce a lot of pollution around the residential areas they pass through. unlike cars. which stink, are noisy, the roads are more expensive to build, require more material and break faster, and kill more people. actually you can point at the boom in air travel in the last 20 years or so as probably being promoted to empower military industrial purposes too. because i'd rather travel across the ocean on a boat, myself. and on land, in a train, and when i get out of the train, i ride my bike back home, or even walk.

That's actually an excellent point about quote-posts creating a separate thread for comments, while boosts do not.
A lot of folks just see boosts as low-effort, which only serve to move a post many people already saw back up to the top of the timeline without anything new being added to the discussion.
Personally, I see the value of boosting separately from quote-posting, and I am glad Nostr has both options in most clients. I generally boost content that was posted at minimum an hour prior, and therefore may be beyond where anyone currently online would scroll, and which is worth reading on its own merits, without any additional comments required.
I do tend to quote-post more than boost, though.

1. You determine what Bitcoin is for yourself.
This means that you choose which node implementation you run. Whether you will update to a new version if the devs included something you disagree with. Or whether you will support a proposed update, such as to add CTV. If you don't run your own node, then those who run the node your wallet communicates with will be the ones making those decisions for you. And all wallets MUST talk to some node or another. It may as well be your own so that you ensure the Bitcoin ruleset is being followed for yourself.
2. You gain some additional privacy.
When you use a wallet that is connecting to another node, that node can see your IP address. It also can see what UTXOs you are interested in. It also sees the details of each transaction you broadcast through that node. So, the note operator may be harvesting information from those who connect to the node. When you run your own node and connect your wallet to it instead of someone else's node, then ONLY your node has that information. It will relay your transactions to other nodes on the network so that mining pools have that information to create block templates, but those nodes won't know if the transaction originated from your node, or if it is just relaying information it got from another node.
3. You verify the Bitcoin you receive for yourself.
When you use a wallet connected to someone else's node, how do you know that the Bitcoin you received is actual Bitcoin? You have to just trust that the wallet didn't receive something else that it is just displaying as Bitcoin to you. When you run a node for yourself, where you can see the blocks coming in and that the transaction ID in your wallet matches the transaction ID in the latest block your node just put its stamp of approval on as a valid block, there's a massive amount of confidence that gives you that you aren't having the wool pulled over your eyes and your Bitcoin is actually Bitcoin, and you do actually hold the keys to real Bitcoin.
4. You understand Bitcoin better.
Running a full Bitcoin node naturally leads to the question, "What can I do with this thing?" Before you know it, you'll be using it to construct your own block templates for your Bitaxe, and running Alby Hub or LNBits on top of your self-hosted LND Lightning node. Or running CLN to receive mining payouts to your own BOLT-12 invoice, rather than one held by a custodian. Or you spend time exploring your own self-hosted mempool to better wrap your mind around inputs and outputs, and the types of transactions that are happening on-chain. I wouldn't know half as much as I know about Bitcoin if I didn't run my own node.
5. Bitcoin is kept decentralized and resilient.
This isn't a benefit to you alone, but to the entire network. Bitcoin remains healthy and decentralized so long as the number of nodes is such that it would be impossible to shut them all down or hack them all at once. That means, the more the merrier. This is why we fought the block-size war; the average person should be able to run their own node on relatively inexpensive hardware. The sheer number of nodes out there running in Bitcoiners' homes and places of business is the reason why Bitcoin can never be shut down. The number of miners protects the immutability of the ledger, but the number of nodes protects its continued existence and the reliable scarcity of the asset.
