WE ARE #PLEBIANS ...
"Why don't more people want to be plebs?" Is what the real question should be. Which is rhetorically unanswerable.
They are in exile. They will go down with the Kingdom. All that will remain are those equipped to traverse their own time, on their own. They can't, which is why they need to cling to the kingdom walls. They don't want nor like "freedom" because they have nurtured the nature right out of themselves. They live transactional existence.... sociopathically removed from the #humanity we struggle to remain firmly chained to.
The simple answer to your questions is: "they don't know how to adapt back towards their nature/humanity".
They don't see intrinsic value in any elements of existence unless they get you social likes (their favourite influencers, bots and jargon are not on #Nostr) or $$$. And they don't have any connection to their nature so they understand the world, and with it, money, through the talking heads they blindly and foolishly allow to explain life itself to them.
These people are not coming back. Whether it be family or friends. People seem to still think they will "wake up". Nope. Panda Bear moment.

Do you understand the conundrum we have here?
Do whatever you want in your mempool. Don't make the same argument for consensus rules. There is no way to stop "non financial transactions" from being included in a block. I'd argue any consensus tx is a financial tx. They're paying a fee in a currency to a miner. That's financial. You're free to disagree and make your mempool reject whatever you want.

Strike can definitely see you sent that transaction and how much was sent.
But it depends who else you're trying to hide info from (general public, routing nodes, sender), how you're using it (blinded paths, ln proxies), and what wallet you're using (custodial vs LSP vs your own node)

In retrospect, it was obvious the letter they signed was justification to merge a clearly controversial PR. It's not obvious what the second and third order effects will be, but I guarantee this will not play out the way that the signers of the letter think it will.
Happy to eat my words and say that I was wrong if a year from now if there isn't a significant growth (>100%) in large OP_RETURN outputs (>160 bytes).
I challenge any signer of the letter to provide a similar metric to measure whether what they're doing works and under what conditions they'd be willing to admit they were wrong.

I know it’s popular to be all-in on moral panic these days, but I think Bitcoin is in a good technical place right now. I’m bullish.
I think Core devs are doing good work. And I’m glad that people can run Knots or otherwise fork if they don’t like Core. That’s part of what makes Bitcoin robust, and gives useful market/adoption signals.
Mining pool centralization isn’t great, but there are plenty of optional tools to use more if it interferes more with the network, and economic signals (eg the possibility of high fees for censored transactions) exist for precisely that context, to help it get unstuck if it gets stuck.
I think current functionality is great, but I also think CTV+CSFS is a sensible upgrade on top of that if folks end up coalescing around it.
Sometimes the sun is out. ☀️
