'Die jüngste Meldung der EU-Kommission lässt aufhorchen: Europas Energieverbrauch ist laut aktuellen Zahlen auf ein „rekordverdächtig niedriges Niveau“ gesunken – ein Meilenstein, so suggeriert es die offizielle Lesart, auf dem Weg zu mehr Energieeffizienz und Nachhaltigkeit. „Langjährige Maßnahmen zur Steigerung der Effizienz zeigen Wirkung“, heißt es etwa in einem Artikel von Euronews vom 29. Mai 2025.
Doch wer genauer hinschaut, erkennt: Der Rückgang des Energieverbrauchs hat möglicherweise weniger mit technologischem Fortschritt zu tun – und viel mehr mit dem Abschalten ganzer Industrien. Was hier als ökologischer Fortschritt gefeiert wird, könnte in Wahrheit Ausdruck eines dramatischen wirtschaftlichen Rückzugs sein: einer schleichenden Abwanderung energieintensiver Industrie – und damit des industriellen Wohlstands.'

I was exploring this a few weeks ago, I mean goose integrated in VSC through its plugin, you can set any LLM in goose. My experience wasn't very satisfying though, but maybe it was my fault. Then I switched to Roo Code and it got better, but I still use goose for some questions and it is still on my table.
