Sie setzen sich hinters Steuer und fühlen sich wie der Herr Ihrer kleinen Welt. Der Sitz schmiegt sich an, die Türen schließen mit einem befriedigenden Klack, und Sie verschwinden in der heiligen Privatsphäre des Fahrersitzes.
Nur dass Sie kein Auto gekauft haben. Sie haben eine Überwachungskapsel geleast.

Kein Handy, keine Privatsphäre?
Hier kommen die paranoiden Minimalisten ins Spiel. Sie prahlen: „Ich koppel mein Handy nicht. Ich nutze nicht mal Bluetooth. Mein Auto ist einfach nur ein Auto.“
Aber in modernen Fahrzeugen ist Ihr Handy nur die Vorspeise. Das Überwachungsmenü geht weiter – mit oder ohne Ihre Zustimmung.
Die Sensoren, von denen Sie nichts wussten
Ein heutiges Auto enthält über 100 Sensoren. Was früher ein Sitz und ein Lenkrad war, ist heute ein rollendes biometrisches Labor mit Silizium-Spionen.
Ihr Auto sammelt:
GPS-Daten jeder Route
Ihr Fahrverhalten: Bremsen, Gasgeben, Ausweichen
Kamerabilder: außen wie innen (auch Gesichtserkennung)
Mikrofonaufnahmen: „Sprachsteuerung“ ist Daueraufnahme
Biometrie: Gewicht, Haltung, Blickrichtung
Kabinenaktivität: wie viele Insassen, wie sie sich bewegen
Wozu? „Zur Sicherheit“. Tatsächlich: Monetarisierung.
Versicherungen nutzen Fahrverhalten für Prämien
Werber verfolgen Bewegungsprofile
Polizei fordert Standort- oder Audioaufzeichnungen an
Datenbroker sammeln, „anonymisieren“ und verkaufen
Anders als Finanz- oder Gesundheitsdaten sind Fahrzeugdaten kaum gesetzlich geschützt. Keine Offenlegungspflicht. Keine klare Rechtslage. Nur PR-Gesülze.
Immer an, nie transparent
Können Sie das alles ausschalten? Meist nicht. Zumindest nicht ohne Vorschlaghammer. Selbst bei deaktivierten Diensten senden manche Autos weiter Daten über fest verbaute SIM-Karten.
Manche Systeme bieten „Connected Services“ oder „Remote Diagnostics“. Sie klingen harmlos. Doch sie sind legale Schlupflöcher für Echtzeitüberwachung. Selbst wenn Sie auf „AUS“ stellen, bleibt oft eine Datenpipeline aktiv.
Keine Warnungen, keine Kontrollpunkte, kein grünes Licht wie beim Handy, wenn das Mikro läuft. Die Kamera im Auto? Keine Einstellung namens „Bitte nicht mein Gesicht filmen“.
Die biometrische Grenze
Nun wird es gruselig: Ihr Auto interessiert sich nicht nur für Ihre Route – sondern auch für Ihre Emotionen.
Beispiele:
Blickverfolgung (Eye Tracking): misst Aufmerksamkeit, Blickrichtung
Bewegungserkennung: analysiert Ihre Stimmung
Herzfrequenz: über das Lenkrad erfasst
Beifahrererkennung: Sensoren erfassen Position, Gurtstatus, Altersschätzungen
Was passiert mit diesen Profilen? Wer speichert sie? Wer besitzt sie?
Antwort: Unklar. Und das ist gewollt.
Die neue Normalität?
Viele Menschen zucken mit den Schultern. „Smart“ bedeutet heute: „Spitzel“.
GM: Datenhandel im Verborgenen
OnStar – der Dienst von General Motors – sammelte jahrelang heimlich Daten: Bremsverhalten, Geschwindigkeit, Zeitpunkte, Musikwahl. Und verkaufte sie an Datenbroker. Fahrer erfuhren es erst durch Klagen. Texas verklagte GM: über 14 Millionen Fahrzeuge seien ohne Einwilligung zu Datenstaubsaugern gemacht worden.
VW: 800.000 Fahrzeuge in Echtzeit geleakt
2024: Ein Datenleck bei VW, Audi, Skoda, Seat. Standortdaten, E-Mails, Telefonnummern – öffentlich einsehbar. Die Sicherheitslücke bestand monatelang.
Tesla: Kameraaufnahmen als Bürobelustigung
2023: Whistleblower berichten, dass Tesla-Mitarbeiter auf Kundenvideos zugreifen und sie intern teilen – z. B. Aufnahmen von Menschen, die nackt durch Garagen laufen. Kein Schutz, keine Regeln, keine Transparenz.
Kia: Versicherungsprofile ohne Info
Kia sammelte Fahrverhaltensdaten – Bremsen, Nachtfahrten, Kurzstrecken – und leitete sie ohne Zustimmung an Versicherer weiter. Ergebnis: Prämienerhöhungen ohne Vorwarnung.
Mozilla: Autoindustrie ist Datenschutz-Katastrophe
Mozilla prüfte 2024 die Datenschutzpraxis von Autoherstellern:
84 % teilen Daten mit Dritten
76 % verkaufen Daten weiter
0 % erfüllen grundlegende Datenschutzanforderungen
Nur Renault & Dacia bieten Löschrechte
Fazit: Autos sind laut Mozilla die „schlimmste Produktkategorie“ für Privatsphäre – schlimmer als Smart-TVs, Fitness-Tracker oder Smartphones.
Mehr als nur Metadaten
Kombiniert mit externen Daten (z. B. Telefonnummern, Kredithistorie, Streaming-Nutzung) entstehen glasklare Verhaltensprofile:
Wohnort, Einkaufsgewohnheiten, emotionale Zustände

Ausblick
Ihr Auto ist keine neutrale Maschine mehr. Es ist ein rollendes Überwachungssystem. Sie können es nicht ganz stoppen. Aber verlangsamen. Und Hersteller zwingen, nicht mehr heimlich zu spionieren.
