progress of tech slowed down in the 90s, and 00s and 10s and virtually all the current tech is barely progressing compared to before.
mainly because of a lack of programmers, which i think is probably because of the fascist copyright powers of big corps like microsoft and oracle raising the cost of new programmers entering the job market. all we got now is javascript ninjas and nobody to build better servers.

TL;DR: While Kotlin is getting rich errors, Go is getting... nothing. And please stop asking for it, the community clearly won't come to a consensus.
Like it or not, `if err != nil` is here to stay. Don't get me wrong, I really like Go and have even been defaulting to it for a lot of my own projects. But when you work with Kotlin on a daily basis, Go codebases start to feel like C with a few extra goodies and polished corners.

I know what you mean. I resisted for a long time myself. My old PB Swiss screwdrivers (with a magnetic 1/4 inch to 4mm micro bit adapter for PC and electronics work) are still around. Nothing gives me a better grip, and I’m still in love with them after all these years.
But to be honest, there are just so many ocassions when I will work on laptops, cabinets, toys, door hinges, IKEA furniture, etc 100% manually when there’s an easy to reach cordless screwdriver around. On/off, screw/unscrew, done! It is just too convenient. These days I mostly use manual screwdrivers for hard to reach places, stripped or stubborn screws and finishing touches.

Cordless drivers are the perfect "lazy boy tool". I paid £25 for the Worx WX242 from a Chinese website, and it replaced not only my Wowstick for PC repairs (handy, but not very powerful) but also my "big boy" impact driver for most things.
Seriously, it's so convenient that I went from Randy Marsh to running out of things to fix and tinker with at home.

Also I was wrong, they actually claim to do end-to-end encryption for all messages. I had read somewhere they only do it for your own messages.
Still would never trust them. Just assume everything is public unless you can read the sourcecode.

That's a lot. Congrats :). I have no idea how many notes I wrote. Primal says 543. My home relay uses HyperLogLog for counting so not necessarily 100% accurate, plus I'm not sure if it really has imported all of my notes. So, lets say that is over 500 and way less than you :).

Why?
Because she created a site to allow people to easily write an email to their representatives - pushing back on the new Finance Bill 2025.
Back in 2016-2018 we spoke about how bad this “Computer misuse and cybercrimes act of 2018” was for Kenyans, and that it would be used for spurious charges like this against people just like Rose Njeri.
This is wrong and we need to both push back on new bills as well as change old ones.

This is for the devs. It's ok when people complain. When your project catches on and reaches a certain level of use, you will be faced with an infinite stream of complainers. There's no way around it. There is an infinite supply of negative people who don't build things but just type comments. You must understand that their opinion does not matter to you. Otherwise you will be crushed by the negativity that will surround you 24/7.
You have one job: find those complaints that have actual merit. They are very rare, and most of the time they do not emerge from an angry person but a calm one. Filter information that you can make use of and ignore the rest.
What I can tell you with 100% certainty is that the complainers don't matter. They do not determine your success or your failure. They are not your target users. Compared to them they are a tiny minority. You aim for the rest. As long as you stay truthful to yourself and to your users, and as long as your product is useful to them, you will grow.
Note: this post makes it sound like that there is only negativity out there which is absolutely not the case. The vast majority of interactions you will have our positive and encouraging. Also, go to conferences. All the tough guys online are sweet like puppies when you meet them face-to-face.

Bei uns wurde heute schon eine Halteverbotszone eingerichtet. In 8 Tagen gehen die "Matjeswoche" los.
Ich vermute, dass man das Volksfest, das auf der Hauptstraße und am Markt gefeiert wird, besonders absichern möchte und so wenif Autos wie möglich im Innenstadtbereich haben will.
