Cạm bẫy của giấc mơ làm giàu
Tưởng tượng bạn là một công nhân bình thường ở Hà Nội, dành dụm được 50 triệu đồng sau nhiều năm làm việc vất vả. Một ngày, bạn nhận được lời mời tham gia một hội thảo đầu tư “không rủi ro” với lời hứa lợi nhuận 30% mỗi tháng. Người dẫn chương trình là một gương mặt nổi tiếng trên mạng xã hội, và không khí hội trường tràn ngập hy vọng. Bạn đầu tư toàn bộ số tiền tiết kiệm, thậm chí vay thêm để “chớp cơ hội vàng”. Chỉ vài tháng sau, tài khoản của bạn trống rỗng, và những người tổ chức đã biến mất.
Đây không phải là câu chuyện giả tưởng. Đây là thực tế đau lòng của hơn 2.600 người Việt Nam, những nạn nhân của một trong những vụ lừa đảo tiền mã hoá và ngoại hối lớn nhất trong lịch sử: vụ lừa đảo 300 triệu USD do một phụ nữ 30 tuổi, Ngo Thi Theu, biệt danh “Madam Ngo” hay “Bà Ngo”, đứng sau. Ngày 23 tháng 5 năm 2025, Bà Ngo bị bắt tại một khách sạn ở Bangkok, đánh dấu bước ngoặt trong cuộc chiến chống tội phạm tài chính quốc tế. Nhưng làm thế nào một mạng lưới lừa đảo khổng lồ như vậy có thể hoạt động ngay trước mắt chúng ta? Và chúng ta học được gì từ sự sụp đổ của “Nữ hoàng tiền mã hoá”?

Vụ lừa đảo của Bà Ngo: Một kịch bản hoàn hảo
Giai đoạn 1: Quảng bá và dụ dỗ
Hãy tưởng tượng một hội trường sang trọng ở Hà Nội hoặc TP.HCM, nơi hàng trăm người háo hức lắng nghe về “cơ hội đầu tư không thể bỏ lỡ”. Ngo Thi Theu, được mệnh danh là “Bà Ngo”, không xuất hiện như một kẻ lừa đảo. Cô là một phần của mạng lưới chuyên nghiệp, sử dụng các nền tảng giao dịch giả mạo với giao diện bóng bẩy, hứa hẹn lợi nhuận 20-30% mỗi tháng.
Để tăng độ tin cậy, mạng lưới của Theu thuê các ngôi sao và influencer nổi tiếng – những người có hàng triệu người theo dõi trên mạng xã hội. Các hội thảo được tổ chức tại 44 văn phòng trên khắp Việt Nam, từ Hà Nội đến Hội An, và thậm chí mở rộng sang Phnom Penh, Campuchia. Những sự kiện này không chỉ bán giấc mơ làm giàu, mà còn tận dụng tâm lý “FOMO” (sợ bỏ lỡ cơ hội), khiến nạn nhân cảm thấy họ phải hành động ngay lập tức.
Giai đoạn 2: Xây dựng niềm tin
Mạng lưới của Theu hoạt động như một mô hình kim tự tháp hoàn hảo. Ban đầu, nạn nhân được phép rút lợi nhuận nhỏ – có thể là vài triệu đồng – để tạo cảm giác an toàn. “Nếu tôi có thể rút tiền, chắc chắn đây là thật!” – đó là suy nghĩ của nhiều người. Những người đầu tư sớm còn được khuyến khích tuyển thêm bạn bè, người thân, nhận hoa hồng hấp dẫn cho mỗi nhà đầu tư mới.
Hơn 1.000 nhân viên được tuyển dụng để duy trì hoạt động này, từ nhân viên tiếp thị đến kỹ thuật viên vận hành các nền tảng giả mạo. Với 35 đồng phạm người Việt và một kẻ cầm đầu người Thổ Nhĩ Kỳ, mạng lưới này không khác gì một tập đoàn đa quốc gia – chỉ khác là mục tiêu của họ là lừa đảo.
Giai đoạn 3: Thu hoạch và biến mất
Khi các khoản đầu tư lớn đổ vào, mạng lưới bắt đầu “thu hoạch”. Các nạn nhân cố gắng rút tiền, nhưng tài khoản của họ bị khóa, hoặc họ nhận được thông báo rằng “hệ thống đang bảo trì”. Những người tổ chức, bao gồm cả Theu, trở nên không thể liên lạc. Tổng cộng, hơn 2.600 người đã mất ít nhất 300 triệu USD – một con số khổng lồ, tương đương với hàng nghìn tỷ đồng.
Giai đoạn 4: Rửa tiền và trốn chạy
Để che giấu số tiền bất chính, Theu và đồng bọn sử dụng các phương pháp tinh vi. Phần lớn số tiền được chuyển cho kẻ cầm đầu người Thổ Nhĩ Kỳ, trong khi phần của Theu được rửa qua các khoản đầu tư bất động sản tại Việt Nam. Khi trốn sang Thái Lan, cô nhận tiền qua các tài khoản “mule” tại Việt Nam, được chuyển sang Thái Lan và rút bằng tiền mặt – mỗi giao dịch khoảng 1 triệu baht (khoảng 700 triệu đồng) – để tránh bị phát hiện.
Nhưng không kẻ tội phạm nào có thể chạy trốn mãi mãi. Nhờ sự phối hợp giữa cảnh sát Việt Nam, Thái Lan và Interpol, Theu bị bắt tại một khách sạn ở quận Watthana, Bangkok vào ngày 23/5/2025, cùng với hai vệ sĩ người Việt.
Tác động: Nỗi đau của nạn nhân và bài học đắt giá
Nỗi đau của 2.600 nạn nhân
Hãy nghĩ về 2.600 người – những gia đình, cá nhân, từ công nhân đến doanh nhân – đã mất đi số tiền tiết kiệm cả đời. Một số người có thể đã vay nợ để đầu tư, giờ đây đối mặt với phá sản và nỗi xấu hổ. Tác động không chỉ là tài chính; nó còn là sự mất niềm tin vào hệ thống, vào những lời hứa về tự do tài chính mà tiền điện tử từng đại diện.
Vụ lừa đảo này cũng làm xấu đi hình ảnh của thị trường tiền điện tử tại Việt Nam, vốn đang chật vật tìm kiếm sự chấp nhận chính thống. Khi các tiêu đề về “Bà Ngo” tràn ngập báo chí, nhiều người có thể quay lưng với các khoản đầu tư hợp pháp, sợ rằng tất cả chỉ là lừa đảo.
Hợp tác quốc tế và những thách thức
Vụ bắt giữ Ngo Thi Theu là một chiến thắng của sự hợp tác xuyên biên giới. Lệnh Đỏ của Interpol, được ban hành vào ngày 10/12/2024, cùng với sự phối hợp chặt chẽ giữa Việt Nam và Thái Lan, đã đưa Theu ra trước công lý. Tuy nhiên, kẻ cầm đầu người Thổ Nhĩ Kỳ vẫn đang lẩn trốn, và hàng trăm triệu USD có thể đã được rửa sạch.
Thái Lan, nơi thường bị coi là “thiên đường” cho tội phạm tài chính từ các nước láng giềng, đang chịu áp lực lớn. Các trung tâm lừa đảo ở khu vực biên giới Myanmar, nhắm vào nạn nhân từ Trung Quốc và các nước khác, đang làm phức tạp thêm tình hình (CNN, 5/2/2025). Vụ bắt giữ Theu cho thấy Thái Lan có thể hành động, nhưng liệu họ có đủ nguồn lực để triệt phá các mạng lưới lớn hơn?
Bài học cho tất cả chúng ta
Cho nhà đầu tư:
Kiểm tra kỹ lưỡng mọi nền tảng đầu tư. Nếu lời hứa lợi nhuận nghe quá tốt, có lẽ nó không có thật.
Tìm hiểu về tiền điện tử và ngoại hối trước khi đầu tư. Các nguồn như trang web của Hiệp hội blockchain Việt Nam hoặc Interpol có thể cung cấp thông tin đáng tin cậy.
Cho cơ quan quản lý:
Tăng cường giáo dục tài chính cho công chúng, đặc biệt ở các khu vực nông thôn nơi kiến thức tài chính còn hạn chế.
Giám sát chặt chẽ quảng cáo trên mạng xã hội và xử phạt các influencer (KOL) quảng bá sản phẩm lừa đảo.
Cho công chúng:
Cảnh giác với các hội thảo đầu tư hoặc lời mời từ những người không quen biết.
Báo cáo ngay các dấu hiệu lừa đảo cho cơ quan chức năng. Hoặc email chương trình chống lừa đảo ChainTracer của Hiệp hội blockchain Việt Nam
Công lý và lời cảnh báo
Vụ bắt giữ Ngo Thi Theu là một chiến thắng của công lý, nhưng nó cũng là lời nhắc nhở rằng cuộc chiến chống tội phạm tài chính còn lâu mới kết thúc. Trong thế giới tiền mã hoá, nơi cơ hội và rủi ro đan xen, lòng tham có thể là kẻ thù lớn nhất của chúng ta.

Bit of progress today.
I spent an embarrassingly long time flattening the various edges so the three pieces would sit flush. After that, some shaping of the capital.
Tomorrow packing up sculptures for Vegas, so this piece gets to rest for a little while. The final design of the base and capital decorations is still coming together so it’ll be good to let those ideas percolate.

Hard forks allow Monero to quickly adapt which has it's advantages/disadvantages (just look at how contentious even softforks are for Bitcoin - both good and bad - good because it stops hasty changes- bad because it becomes gridlocked).
To be fair there are social attack surfaces with Bitcoin it just works in the opposite direction (obstructing beneficial changes)
If there was a very contentious issue the network would just end up forking (just like what happened with Monero from Bytecoin) just like any other FOSS. It requires users voluntarily participating in the network to begin with. You can also swap your coins away (voting with your wallet) for something else that more aligns with your preferences and no one can stop you.

맞습니다. 핵심은 결국 비트코인을 필요로 느끼고 원하는 개인이 비트코인을 얻고자 스스로 행동하는 거니까요! 그런 점에서 로스바드의 “자발적 교류”가 왜 항상 그렇게 강조되었는 지 새삼 느낄 수 있는 것 같습니다. 경제학 이론을 비트코인 덕분에 현실의 사례로 볼 수 있어서 신기하기도 하고 경이롭기도 합니다 🥹

All good , having a lazy Sunday at home for a change, listening to some tunes and watching movies. I just stumbled across a great band, new to me anyway. A Welsh trio called 'Cardinal Black'. Chris Buck ,the guitarist is a standout in the talent in the band, and the singer is very soulful too.
If I was in The UK I would go see them, they are on tour. New album release this week too.

Yes, I know all about this. But I feel more and more reluctant of updating my core version, which is also not a good approach.

周末带娃去逛游乐园，30多度的高温热得满头大汗。此时此刻娃还在开蹦蹦车，我累倒在旁边的长椅上。

天天与书为伴，浸泡在佛经与武林秘籍里，这是不是最幸福的生活，最完满的人生？
