新マリン球場2034年開場へ 屋外型で宿泊、商業施設も併設 概算事業費650億円の巨大プロジェクト
千葉市の神谷俊一市長が22日の定例会見で、「千葉マリンスタジアム再整備基本構想案」の骨子を公表した。
老朽化が進むロッテの本拠地ZOZOマリンスタジアムに関し、施設を所有する千葉市が、2034年の新球場開場を目指す。
神谷市長は「新たなスタジアムを中心に多くの交流を生み、幕張新都心の活力を最大限に引き出すと考えています」としたうえで「屋外型ならではのスタジアムの実現を考えております。プロ野球のない日も訪れたくなるような施設を目指す」と、新施設の持つ可能性を口にした。
新球場の構想は「屋外型」で、幕張豊砂駅から約500メートルほどの幕張メッセ駐車場に建設を予定。
現球場の歴史の継承の観点から「海」「風」「空」を感じられ、コスト面も考慮して屋外型を構想している。
概算事業費はスタジアム整備費600億円と周辺インフラ整備費など約50億円で、合計約650億円を見込んでいる。
グラウンドは人工芝で、収容人数は3万3000人前後で検討している。現球場は12球団の本拠地で最少の2万9645人収容で、1割程度の拡張。
グラウンドを見渡すことができる「オープンコンコース」、観客席上部への屋根（ひさし）を兼ね備える。また、現在は球場の外に隣接している屋内練習場を、球場に接続する形で整備するよう想定する。
また、民間事業者の投資による整備を想定した拡張機能を構想。球場を感じながら滞在できる宿泊型施設、商業施設やエンタメ空間、広場などの設置実現も目指していく。
現在の球場は、県立幕張海浜公園に千葉市が千葉県から設置許可を取って設置している。
新スタジアム開業までは利用を継続し、その後は解体されて千葉市から千葉県に同地が返却される。
ロッテの高坂俊介代表取締役社長は「現時点ではまだ具体的なお話はできませんが、千葉ロッテマリーンズは千葉市と連携し、魅力的なスタジアムづくりを通して地域の未来に貢献できますよう、協議・検討を重ねてまいります」とコメントした。
