Konzerne sind die Hölle, richtig. Da kommst du auch nie an die Entscheider ran. Habe ich bei einigen meiner Kunden leider auch lernen müssen. Middle Management verspricht dir alles mögliche, wenn’s um Migrationen und Qualitätsansprüche geht, aber dann scheitert es doch an irgendeinem CIO-Hansel, der sich auf einer Verkaufsveranstaltung hat “beraten” lassen und was ganz anderes will.
Hoffe bei kleinen lokalen Läden hier vor Ort mehr Erfolg zu haben. Wenn er sich für Windows entscheidet, wäre das tatsächlich mein erster Windows Server seit ~2011. Traurig.

Microsoft ist einfach übertrieben verbreitet.
Ich kenne kaum noch ein Unternehmen was nicht MS Teams in Verwendung hat.
Der Großteil meiner Server besteht aus Windows. Ist auch ein wenig Linux dazwischen.
Bei manchen Diensten habe ich immer mal wieder probiert Alternativen einzubetten. Aber in einem Konzern ist das fast unmöglich langfristig durchzubringen.

Der Kunde hat halt ein paar Home-Lizenzen rumfliegen, hätte Geld gespart, das nicht an Microsoft geht.
Habe seit 2011 nicht mehr mit Windows/Windows Server/SQL Server und dem ganzen Driss arbeiten müssen. 2 Jahre gab’s zwangsläufig mal Outlook und OneDrive und für 1-2 Kunden brauchte ich mal Zugriff auf Sharepoint von irgendwelchen Partnern von denen.
Ist mir echt rätselhaft, wie man für diesen ganzen Murks Geld ausgeben kann und den ganzen Kram auch noch mit seinem Business verdrahtet. Aber die meisten sind ja ohnehin komplett beratungsresistent.

Der Microsoft-Support-Clown erzählt mir, Windows 11 Home dürfe kommerziell verwendet werden, kennt also offenbar die EULA seines Arbeitgebers nicht. Empfahl mir ausserdem Server 2022 Essential, das nur scheinbar nirgends zum Verkauf steht.
Microsoft ist *immer* Zeitverschwendung. Ob Azure, Exchange, Windows, Outlook, Office, Bing oder 365. Alles Müll.

Und wie so oft bei solchen Naturkatastrophen, die natürlich schon lange vorhergesehen wurden: Wenn man weiss, dass es passieren wird..warum ergreift man dann nicht Schutzmaßnahmen, die zumindest die Folgen für z.B. die Menschen in den betroffenen Dörfern mildern?

Woke up to her having removed the neck ruff they put on her over night. Would’ve removed it tomorrow anyways but I’m kinda proud of her for managing to do it on her own.
Apart from that, the swelling is down, she’s already moving more on her own in her cubicle and she manages to not leave a mess when handling her natural business. Overall I think she’s doing great.
