A pocas horas de disputar la semifinal del Torneo Apertura frente a Platense, Russo aparece como el gran apuntado por Boca, que lo imagina como el conductor ideal rumbo al Mundial de Clubes. Ese sería el primer objetivo para estabilizar el rumbo deportivo del club. Sin embargo, por ahora, el entrenador se mantiene al margen de los rumores y concentra toda su atención en el presente azulgrana.
Según explicó Antonio Arrighi en TyC Sports, Russo estaría “enfocado en el partido del domingo“, sumado a que “conoce a Riquelme y sabe que no lo va a llamar cuando está a punto de jugar un partido tan importante”. Bajo esa línea es que el periodista agregó que el presidente de Boca “sabe que Russo no lo va a atender” debido al contexto que vive en el Ciclón.
Russo, entre la semifinal con San Lorenzo y el interés de Boca.
Incluso Claudio Úbeda, su ayudante de campo, remarcó que “no va a llamarlo mientras esté con trabajo”. Pero más allá del respeto mutuo, todo indica que una vez finalizado el torneo, el escenario podría cambiar. Aunque Russo tiene contrato vigente en Boedo hasta fin de año, su continuidad después del Apertura está en duda.
La reacción de la dirigencia de San Lorenzo al interés de Boca por su entrenador
Desde San Lorenzo ya tomaron nota del interés de Boca y comenzaron a moverse. El club atraviesa una situación institucional delicada y eso podría pesar en la decisión del entrenador. La dirigencia, con Julio Lopardo como máxima autoridad tras la licencia de Marcelo Moretti, tomó una primera medida: saldar los cinco meses de salario que le debían a Russo. El gesto busca retenerlo, aunque saben que no será sencillo.
Otra preocupación para el DT es lo que viene en el mercado de pases. El plantel podría sufrir una depuración importante, y para incorporar refuerzos habrá que levantar varias inhibiciones. Para eso, se necesitarían ventas. Un panorama que no entusiasma demasiado al técnico y que podría empujarlo a cerrar su ciclo en el Ciclón una vez finalice el campeonato.
La postura de Boca ante el interés por Russo
A pesar que Riquelme habría tomado la decisión de avanzar por el ex DT de Rosario Central, su llegada podría demorarse. Es que, en caso de que San Lorenzo avance a la final del Torneo Apertura, su ciclo en el club se estirará, al menos, una semana más.
Además, vale destacar que todavía no puede haberse iniciado ningún trámite iniciado entre las partes debido a que Russo cuenta con contrato vigente con el Ciclón. Por ende, primero debería abandonar su actual puesto para luego darle inicio a las cuestiones de papelerío con el Xeneize.
Sin embargo, la cúpula encabezada por Riquelme estaría decidida a esperar que finalice la participación del Ciclón en el campeonato local para intentar cerrar el operativo seducción.
