Op_Return was a misguided gift that was unnecessary back in 2014 and is unnecessary todayโฆ might even call it a mistakeโฆ
But if you want a bigger Op_Return limit then go pivot to BCash with Roger Ver.
The Op_Return limit deters abuse by Spammers.
Vitalik was interested in building ETH using Op_Return but decided against it for reasons that I suspect had to do with the 40byte limit and the fact that Bitcoin Devs shunned his ideas. Getting rid of the limit completely is just asking for some Spammy L2 to start dumping on Bitcoin.
Finite limits are the most sensible policies for full nodes to run regarding Op_Return.
People should also take Lukeโs other filtering proposals seriously to minimize other Spam abuse.
We should do everything we can to encourage constructive use of Bitcoin, not encourage degenerate vanity and waste of an extremely valuable resource.

There is onion service messaging (which is a really good model but connections have been very unreliable) and IRC messaging; several IRC servers were configured by default, the most active one being darkscience. But a while back they requested to be removed as it was too much traffic. Afaik a new release of Joinmarket has not been produced for a long while. Not sure of further details, I don't work on Joinmarket any more.

1st picture is what a car windscreen looks like after some rainfall in the night.
2nd picture is of a glass patio table that I cleaned on Saturday which now looks like that.

Seems strange to me, no wonder my nose is always dry & I'm thirsty.
