The other cool thing about 3Speak is nostr:npub18hz8xs2tafx7rhclzukrr94gypcemw6ch2hcwe9eak4q03k4a8wq2wfmgv (the creator of v4v.app) made a 3speak to RSS bridge, so the videos are available in any podcast player that supports video.

Dad hack: if anyone in your household sets the thermostats to 72 F or 22 C or higher then you can just turn off the heat altogether, disconnect the thermostat, and set it on the kitchen table. They either learn out how to reconnect it or be cold and you save on your utility bill. Win Win.

My workflow is all-in with the Visual Studio desktop IDE. I'm using the free Copilot w/GPT-4o and they just released some new stuff that's proactive in the editor. I just got the Pro version today.
I'm taking it slow towards wanting to instruct it to make sweeping changes across an entire codebase, and to be able to help organize the structure so that it's well-designed for maintenance in the future.
That's lofty, and I'm sure I'll be OK with whatever I get.

“Put that camera down, you bitch,” someone yelled out of a car as it drove by with the door wide open.
I had a little time in Savannah yesterday to walk around and take some photos. I tend to wander through the rougher areas — not just in Savannah, but in any city I visit. I’m drawn to the spots most people avoid. Not the tourist zones, but the alleys, the quiet, broken-down neighborhoods where the grit is.
I’ve photographed Savannah a lot over the past few years, so it’s getting harder to find places I haven’t already been. But every now and then, I’ll stumble on a back street or alley I’ve never seen before, and in it, something I’m almost certain no one else has photographed.
There’s something about walking aimlessly with a camera that I find incredibly fulfilling. Honestly, if I could do just that for the rest of my life — wander around and photograph things that most people overlook — I’d be content.
There’s a quote I heard recently - can’t remember who said it — but it stuck with me. It was something like: “It’s better to be aimless than to be rigid with a plan.” Because when you’re too locked into a goal, you might miss the opportunities that pop up along the way. You need to stay flexible, fluid—open to what the world hands you.
That’s how I feel about photography. I’ll walk for hours—sometimes five to ten miles — just to see what shows up. It becomes a game. A game between me, the camera, the street, and whatever decides to show up that day.
Usually, it takes a few warm-up shots to get into it — just pictures of objects, whatever catches my eye. But once I find a rhythm, it’s like the world starts to reveal itself. The good stuff comes out of hiding.
That’s what real photography is to me. Not staging scenes or setting up portraits—that’s more like illustration, as Garry Winogrand would say. What I care about is life. Life unfolding right in front of you. Life happening.

I agree for most apps. But what about messengers like Signal and WhatsApp. I’m kinda glad Signal is a non-profit that can’t be sold to the highest bidder. Meanwhile WhatsApp’s meta data is now harvested by Facebook and Meta AI is integrated into the search bar for every user that can’t be turned off.

Blossom does not have multipart uploads, so at the moment it might be difficult to even upload a large video.
You could convert it to HLS chunks, but then keeping it online would become much more difficult

The biggest annoyance of “vibe coding” with ChatGPT is its incessant need to write an entire application every single time you ask it anything, when it becomes a mess of bugs and contradictions with even modest size.
Trying to get the damn thing to modularize each component and put them together coherently is something I have to explain over and over again. It just wants to write 1,000 lines of code every time even though it constantly fails at it 🤣
Anyone found the magic sauce LLM that actually already works this way and knows to keep things in small components by default?

Does it store kind 10002? Because that should really be the thing that gets indexed, rather than profiles (although that's also helpful). Also, I'm not sure what you mean by lightweight, a blossom server is out of scope for what I'm trying to do. Although the fact that it's dockerized does make it easier to deploy.
